JB ah? No worries, when ever you came to Singapore do look us up! Recent times Woodlands traffic cannot.. I don't stay near there, don't know the jam is a result of a search or a prelude to an ERP gantry.

The virus is called Windows. No need forum also can get one ;) The crash happens occasionally and in this case it's just going a tad deeper than usual only, can't boot up.

When I bought my S8000 last month, the price diff between the models was about SGD$210. Firstly I am on a budget, don't want to spend more than is necessary, also, I didn't see any review or comparison of IQ between the models but I do know both uses CCDs of the same size.. I chose the cheaper model.

wat parampita explains say it all... check out price of both models again...decide if u mind or dun mind paying the diff for the extra mp(S8100 is 10mp, I think)

May I have ur opinions on whether wed evening is ok for kopi TCSS session cum casual shoot?

Temporaily put Wednesday as proposed date but subject to change for everyone's convenience. Everyone pls also suggest ur ideal kopi venue. For me, I suggest city hall.... a place in the center convenient for eveyone.

I am on for Wednesday after 8.30pm. If Thursday I think I can make it earlier.
City Hall is ok, after the drink and dinner can proceed for night shots. Eh guys, remember to bring your tripods unless your hands can hold still like insect don't move.

tot of getting a used D80 .. was initially looking at the canon 450D or Nikon D60..what bout u?

QUOTE=parampita;4187316]Keep the S8000 as a second cam lor. Which dSLR you aiming for? I am also looking around.[/QUOTE]

I am considering a D80 too. D60 is out for me as I am a big fan of AA batteries ;) I am looking around, and also budgeting. The other one I am thinking of is an entry level Pentax, K200D. How much do you intend to spend?

Irregardless of which one I get, I am still keeping my S8000 as a spare cam. Just like handphone, production one in pocket, keep a COB one at home.

However, to put a disclaimer first.. not taken from the current fuji cam.. it's from my previous cam.. jsut to share with you some pics, which in my own opinion, it's not an eyesore..hopefully i can achieve the same results as when i use the functions of fuji cam.. up till this moment, am loving my Fuji Cam!

been looking ard in the buy/sell section , there are some good deals in there..approx. 1.1k for the kit set. Wads the brand new price like anyway for the kit set?

Sorry folks, I can get lots of reviews for 8000 but very little on 8100. Will the sensor size make that much of a difference I wonder? Are the negative reviews at dpreview.com justified? Will need cam for lots of indoor, therefore low light, shots.

Actually, the very first question that perhaps you should ask yourself is this "what do you want out from your short-listed camera?"..

if you are going into trying out the different features, like playing with the aperture, shutter priority, etc, to get different effects for a pictures, then a prosumer will be good..

if you want a hassle-free camera, then F100d, which is a compact (think this is one of your shortlisted cam), should be good enough.

S8100fd is about the same as S8000fd, as it's an improved version of S8000FD. The main differences are: (8000 vs 8100)
megapixel - 8mp vs 10mp.
digital zoom - 5.1 vs 5.7

as for DPReviews, what I will normally do is that "i'll take it with a pinch of salt".. meaning, I will take their reviews for my reference, but the decision will lay with myself when i try out the camera. Cos after all, different ppl have got different ways of handling the cam...

If you are going for low light night shots, you can consider S100fs.. it has incorporated CCD sensor 2/3 - inch Super CCD HR, which is also pretty good, as in I have read the reviews for it.. so far pretty positive..

The above is just my 2cents worth. ;)

In the first place how big is your picture? Just right click on your picture copy image location and link it here. It will be as big as you have uploaded it.

I am also more keen on Thursday. Kenn is ok on Thursday. Muscle man (you) is Thursday.

How about the rest? Kindly revert. Thanks!

Clouds are my weakness... i can have lots of clouds pics.. and in fact if u ask 10 ppl what they see on the pics, 10 will tell you different things... it's amazing...

You weak in clouds meh? Like very good leh!

The thing about art is.. well, it's interpretive and subjective ;)

haha... to me, i'm a "sun" person..prefers the sun than night time.. cos no other light is better than natural light when taking pics..

and i must agree that art is very subjective.. like what cecil mentioned, what is nice to you might not be nice in other's eyes...
