This seems reasonable for me.
Good spec that almost on par with 5DII, but not a FF.
Not FF, means Canon still keeping the sales of 5DII, since those want FF will still go for 5DII.
So, could this be a win-win situation for Canon?

yep, Prosumer it not a 1D, that's for sure... but Canon probably will release a new 1D body soon.
According to the Website..... they are..... together with 7D.
Anyway.... Sept is coming soon.... just a few more days to go !! :bigeyes:

But those specs are so unlike the XXD series. Unless Canon decided to really do a full scale retaliation against Nikon's D300? Canon's move from 40D to 50D was weak and desperate IMHO.
If those specs are really true for XXD, I don't think the noise will be on par or better than the 5D II. Maybe close to, but not quite as clean. They won't let the 5D II be killed off.
It's not really the price gap, but the feature gap which isn't that huge. So the trick for Canon is to give a FF DSLR while offering ideally nothing more than what a 50D offers in feature/function with a few well-placed cripples.
It's like watching a Cirque du Canon :bsmilie:

- Dual DIGIC 4
- Built in Flash Master (Goodbye ST-E2)
- Full HD Video
- APS-C (1.6 Crop)
- Non Articulating LCD
3 New Lenses
- An L Macro will be released with the new Hybrid System
- One other is a non-L lens
- The third is a bit of a mystery still
Underwater Video Camera
- We can expect a waterproof camcorder from Canon as well.

In software parlance, the 5Dm2 is Canon's Windows Vista. Neither here nor there, and not exactly every WindowsXP (5D classic) owner rushing to upgrade either :bsmilie:
