Actually most shops are willing to remove the kit len to sell the body :)

Not for this 18-135mm lens, tried to ask them to remove the lens and sell me the body only, a few places i enquire say they dun... it is not the 24-105mm lens with the 5dii you know,,,

no choice but have to wait under the list... hopefully friday....

Having some problem with flash commander function. For fully automatic shooting with 1 external speedlite, my 7D just fire an external flash (EX430) not mount on camera body only and inbuild flash together?
I thought that function suppose to fire external flash only?
Anyone can enlighten me?:D

If you had set off firing for master flash, you still can see the flash come out from master unit. that is used for signal transmitting, it doesn't give any light to your object.

Oh icic so does that mean the light firing from the built in flash is normal?

Take a look at the manual page 214
Custom Func III - 11
Enable IR AF assist beam only....

Tested again...yes...it fires off...at least it's not firing continuously to determine exposure...
I guess, we have to live with it :)

What do you mean?
There is no way to completely off the master flash for canon wireless flash system.
They need it to transmit the signal to trigger and control the slave flash.

Let me clarify, you want to trigger your 430 using the in built flash commander. And the in built flash fires. ;)

It's good that you took the effort to read the manual.... the thing is... I can't find IR AF thingy (not the setting) on 7D. ;)

bros,

my coy is supporting me to upgrade to a better camera.
i'm looking at canon 7D and nikon D700.

7d kit is 18MP @ $2900 +/- (but is a crop frame right?)

d700 body only is 12.1MP @ $3600 +/- (FX) (but only 12.1MP w/o video)

if budget is not an issue, which one is a better buy?

personally, i would prefer to hv video, high MP n is full frame. (dont tell me 5dMK2)
but if is 7d, plz explain why is better than a d700.

i shoot more on landscape n portrait.

TIA.

guess which of the above i used to shooy the below image.

EXIF is intact.

Canon 7D. ;)

Sian man, my 70-200mm f4L is back focusing at the 70mm end, while 200mm is still tack sharp...looks like I ahve to send both lens and body in for calibration, as microadjustment in-camera won't help in this instance...:(

'ello folks.

Just wondering if any of you have noticed that the viewfinder has a slight brownish tint that is pretty obvious when looking through it at a white surface. I've also noticed that I can see a faint mottling pattern, outlines of what appear to be the transmissive LCD crystals, when I point the camera at a bright and homogeneous target like the blue sky.

I'm wondering if my transmissive LCD is acting up. My 450D viewfinder has neither the tint nor the outlines. The CSC says it's natural though. Feedback, please?

Hi yeobt - (dont tell me 5dMK2)??
u prefer hv video, u shoot more landscape n portrait n budget is not an issue: best camera fr that is the canon 5dmkII - FF, WA, DOF, hd video....;p

Still do remember that hv video camera u need hardware n software* for solid production - thats added cost:sweat:

If ur just a hobbyist then 7D best of both world fr the canon lens n nikon w/bracket only no WA - PP on stills n videos*
