clearly, if the 'weekend warriors' among us cannot produce nice photos with the camera but the pros can, it's obviously the camera's fault mah.

i'm not too bothered by the AF points myself, i only use 1 anyway.

If only Canon will bring back the depth Mode.....what a waste that it is not in DSLRs.

Yes, blame the camera for poor taken shots. It is the easiest way out. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Actually, apart from HD video (why?!?!) , and high ISO, I am quite unexcited. I was expecting more.

HERE I GO.
WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE
there's ALWAYS SOMETHING TO WHINGE ABOUT

probably have to wait till I see images from it

Actually I tot of seeing a more AF points too... 9 AF points not an improvement...

There's actually 51 hidden AF points in there. You just have to 'unlock' it just like the iPhone. LOL!!!

In the old days (1970s),

1. Half the SLRs had MANUAL exposure. The others generally had either Aperture or SS priority AE. In the 1980s, some had more modes. ALL had only 1 type of metering.

2. There was NO such thing as AF.

3. ISO 400 film was rather grainy. Good film was ISO 25 (Kodachrome) or 64 or 100 generally

4. LCD - what is that?

5. Video - use a cine camera

And people took great photos etc. A lot of skill.

Now, people complain that the 5DMk2 is not quite good enough, and complain that it is the equipment at fault. It has been said many times = photography is about using your equipment well, including all the limitations.

I starting to like you.

Aiming to get this as a major upgrade from my existing setup. Haven't posted for a while, just find it a bit surprising over the seemingly faulting of af points and fps.

I guess this upgrade appeals more to people who are aiming for excellant low light photos?

Being an event shooter, I know the limitations of my existing cam, and this cam satisfies it, if my standard of shooting can improve proportionately ha. What happen to focus recompose? I'm struggling to change af points on the fly with my 9 af points already, and anything more is a bonus since 1 is enough?

And actually is it more impt to predict the moment rather than bursting at >6fps to capture anything?

I guess at the end of the day what cam you get is also highly dependant on the genre you shoot, and whether you can make full use of it bah, my two cents take on all these =)

ehh until now. nobody from CS have handled/tried the 5d Mark II.
Based on paper specifications, it would be easy for us to bash the camera.

i think it would be appropriate for us to compare the auto focusing speed vs the dark side equivalent when we have the two cams side by side. :p

i'm pretty interested hw it really performs. one of the reviews stated the video is excellent and iso 6400 is really smooth still.
wonder hw true it is. the af shdnt be so bad if it can focus in almost pure darkness at iso 6400 right?

let us wait.. till 5d mark ii hits our shores.

It is because they are generally a gear collector~ But it is also them who drive the sales! hahahah what an irony

Well, back in the days, they didn't have Internet forums to bitch about on either, did they?

Who cares what's bashed/praised on these forums? You think Canon gives a sh!t?

It's a gear forum. People bitch/praise/bash/worship/argue/[fill-in-verb] about their gear. There's nothing new to that.

What is new though is the latest fad: people bitching about people bitching about gear in a gear forum.
