EF 24-70mm f2.8L

Hi,

I am wondering....Is the EF 24-70mm f2.8L or the EF 35mm f1.4 a better walkabout lens on a 1.6x crop camera?

24-70mm - a greater range for the field of view compared to using a prime lens as a walkabout lens.. 24-70mm also covers the 35mm as well..

It depends on where you are walking. Event? Portraiture? Street? Studio?
 

agreed. 24-70 will be better than the 35mm.

just gives more range.

If you like a wider angle for landscape, you might find 24mm limiting on a 1.6x crop camera. Just some more food for thought. ;)

Just got back from the grand canyon with this lens and the 10-22. Didn't really find that many situation where the 24mm is too limiting (mostly architecture close-ups). Even if you use the 10-22, you will introduce distortion so have to be careful anyway.
 

anyone knows the best price offered for this lens?
