I think with 1080 height, rolling shutter will be worse...but are they using rolling shutter? Since its an Evolution model, they might be using global shutter...and they will even awe the movie people further.:bsmilie:

They will just go.. "Awww.. now there's a format that's larger than Super35mm.." Who knows? That might redefine cinematography for good? ;p I'm sure National Geographic will be pleased. :) Does it suffer from a more terrible rolling shutter problem than the D90? The sample movies are mostly static.

Is it possible to implement global shutter for CMOS? Anyway, if you want the 24p film look, then you need rolling shutter because a film camera uses a rotating shutter.

looks like body only price will not be $1300 then?

With the announcement of 5DII, I might want to wait for D90s... Hopefully be able to get full manual controls (framerate, shutter angle, ISO, aperture) for video, AF capability, H.264 compression, etc... ;p But I think I'm going to miss out on a lot of fun...

WOW! Looking at the official review of the D90 at http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/nikon/d90-review/index.shtml, & comparing the review of the D300 on the same site(http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/nikon/d300-review/).....u can see the D90 capture more details at ISO3200 compared to the D300.

No perceptible difference for me between D90 and D300...

Any difference might also be attributable to in-camera noise reduction, no?

But 1988 seems expensive compared to other countries, sigh. Anyone privy to the BO price?

actual street prices will be lower

hey hey

Where do people normally get their Nikon from?
John 3:16, TK, Cathay or Alan?

look like M'sia is selling much cheaper??

Yup but when you but you get the warranty if you but it in Singapore. Well worth the extra money.

Yay! thought it would be retailling at SGD 2099. the official price is $1988 so street price would be around 1.7k.

The D90 appears to be released earlier than some of us had thought. Maybe Nikon knew that some of us would like to use the D90 during the F1 race:D

Just got called from my regular shop....coz I made reservation for body only. ;)

D90 Kit = $1,800
Body only.....waiting for them to call me to confirm. ;p
