D90 User Group

Bought a D300s from Sim LIM Square, they sold me a 222 shutter counted camera and told me is new...
Also sell me a Vitacon CPL 67mm which make my photo got quite serious "falloff" problem. ( not only me, another 2 of my friend who bought D90 also got these problem from the Circular PL to their kit lens and same shop)

Tomorrow going to complain, if they never take any action, i going go tell u all the shop name and hope u all stay far away from these shop.

ps: this shop do have chain shop, so is suppose to be quite reputable...

u use which prog to determine ur shutter count?

as for Vitacom filters seems this is the filter of choice for scams man, many people here post abt being con to buy the vitacom filters at a premium price

anyways hope u can resole any differences n start enjoying ur cam!

Becareful as I heard many customers got bashed up by those stupid ah bengs at Sim Lim shops and nobody is doing anything about it....i hope u can get a new replacement.

i got my tamron at 970. yea, i'm not good in bargaining, but i'm still satisfied with it.
however, i encountered one minor problem for tamron on D90 in Live View mode, it seems that it couldn't lock the auto focus after 17mm+. manual focus seems okay. anyway, i'm not going to use Live View so often, to me it's still okay, i can use manual focus if i need live view mode. and i also expected this kind of problem may happen for a 3rd party lens on a Nikon SLR.

Becareful as I heard many customers got bashed up by those stupid ah bengs at Sim Lim shops and nobody is doing anything about it....i hope u can get a new replacement.

I get my D300s from SLR PRO (tel:6336 8151 or 6336 8174) sim lim #01-56
no new replacement, but DAVID help me fix it, oh well, my bad... I put both UV and CPL, so there is a "fallout" effect...
After I put only CPL the things all go perfectly!

At least change to Hoya CPL....way much better than Vitacon;p

David told me I can exchange my Vitacon to Hoya by paying 80 SGD... I think I already beyond my budget, so I will continue stick to Vitacon until next time I need it.

D300s body + Lowepro Rezo 190 AW + Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 (mordel A16N2) + Vitacon CPL 67mm + a normal UV = 3100 SGD

Went from D200 to D90....no more metal body but

• lighter
• superb LCD screen
• more functions
• better photos (was stunned how good without PP)

main controls even in manual mode are still easy to change on the fly

overall very very pleased but of course good glass helps :thumbsup:

The 222 is the file name, the shutter count was 55 when brand new... the sales man explain that the shopkeeper will do receiving inspection on higher end model

Since my the salesman is very sincere and (in fact i already bought) what to do... just accept the fact lo...

my 2 friend's D90 is brand new... so i think better believe the sales man:bsmilie::dunno:

Finally got my D90 Kit from a friend @ 1650, 18-55mm and 55-200mm lense 8GB and a bag.

Dear all, what's ur setting for your noise reduction on D90? I found that bokeh area grainy even in iso200, more obvious is it's darker area. Isit normal? My current NR setting is as below:
High ISO NR: Low
Long Exp NR: Off
D-lighting: normal

so far i ask from MS Color and Cathay price they quote for me is $1699 and $1728, thiking of paying by credit card.

hi there, just do a quick search for "recommended shops" in this particular thread should give u many suggestions...

if u really wannt go to Sim Lim, u can try Orient Photo (level 5 or 6) good feedback, n for Lucky Plaze, there's Lord's Photo... for Funan there's quite a number of good shops, but try to avoid Bally (lots of bad reviews)...

price wise, cash payment will give u the best price, but if u r tourist, maybe u can get the GST rebate too
