$195 MS Colour
$180 J316

And btw, the f1.8 is a AF-D, not AFS

We should have an outing for nikon 50mm, some experts to lead and dish our pointers, i dun think i am doing the lens justice as of yet

Yeaaa seriously man we should...i think almost all of us here hav 50mm..or think of gettin one..

It would be fun...

woah just came back from a walkabout of esplanade......was alternating between the kit 18-105 lens and the 50mmf1.8 lens.

No fight. In terms of sharpness 50mm wins hands down. At least based on my test result, hmm.....any masters of the 18-105 kit lens care to share some tips on how to achieve best result with this lens?

Tks.

cheers,

Hi all,

Jt got my MB-D80 @ $199.
Guess nowadays hard to find batt grip.

Hi anyone have suggestion which flash is suitable for the D90?
Needed one which i can use for indoor shoot.
Was testing shots and due to lighting i have to slow the shutter speed ended lots of blur shots when i need them to be sharp.
Budget would be around 200 or so?
Welcome all info on which shop gives a good pricing as well :)

Thanks

$200... ? :bsmilie:
I guess there's only 1 that fits that range - SB 400.

Did you try using the built-in flash?

Yah i tried but the end result looks like PNP camera photos guess i need a flash with diffused spread :) eer so 200 cant fit the bill guess have to tighten the belt for a few months to save enough. So which flash would be suitable then? SB900? cost?

Think it's around $650 if I am not mistaken. Why don't you go and get a diffuser for the build in flash? It work well for mine :) CP sell a diffuser where you can place it at the hotshoe area and it will diffuse the build-in flash :)

I got the diffuser for $30 :) You can bring your camera there and try with and without diffuser :) A great difference for mine :)

Hey guys

Is it normal for your viewfinder to have very very faint scratches?
I just got my D90 and after close inspection, I can see a couple of very faint scratches on my viewfinder. Any chance of getting it replaced? just the viewfinder?

Why don't u clarify with the shop you bought from since you just got it recently?

Hmm I would make noise if mine does have scratches on it. Are you sure it's not lint? Coz viewfinder can sometimes attract lint to stuck to it. If you are sure it's scratches, bring back to the shop and see what they say. Good luck.

2 questions:

1) I have some problems with the Jello effect even when using prime lens (50 mm). The jello effect occured when focusing from nearest to infinity. Anyone knows how to overcome this?

2) Does anyone know the compression of D90? I shot similar image with D300 but the file size of D90 is smaller. I wonder if there is any IQ lost?

Will leave the experts to answer 1), for 2) if I am not wrong, it's because D300 shoots in 14-bit RAW, while D90 shoots in 12-bit RAW, hence the smaller file size for the D90.

It will be good to have if you have the budget. Since you only have the D90 and kit lens and if budget is tight, can consider a 30L one. Should cost around $180. Search the fourm, alot of info. I personally was using a 30L one about 10 years before it died on me recently. I had since replaced it with a 100L one :)

I think its better to invest $118 on the cheapest 30L Dry cabinet den to send in the Camera/lens to NSC.. especially if its after the warranty period
