I am using Sandisk 95mb/sec 16gb sd card and sometimes my D800 will lock up for like 5 seconds or so with the card access light turned on.
I can't seem to nail down exactly when this happens as it only happens rarely. Usually after burst shooting and image review. Does this happen to anyone?
I am not sure if it is caused by the SD card... I don't have another fast card to test.
No problem, here u go
F-stop F10
Shutter 15s
ISO 100
aiseh, good stuff.

This is normal for when shots in raw files for heavy buffering.
Mine is the same, but not every time will be the happen.
Same here ,
Happens once in a while
but so far the image is written successfully
ok so I guess it is not the SD card issue.
I shoot raw all the time but I usually only burst like 3 shots at a time. I think it occurs when I do two bursts in succession. Never notice such lock ups in my D700.
Try to used CF
I just bought a 16gb Sandisk Pro sd card. I decided to buy a fast SD card because I think SD card will be more useful all round. Can be used for my fuji X10.
Does it mean if I buy a fast CF card there will be zero lockups?
Somehow, the lockups can be quite long and I don't think the camera is clearing the buffer. Because normally when I shoot a burst of 3 shots, the buffer clears VERY fast. Occasionally I get stuck in some super slow card access which is weird.

just read Dpreview and it seems that d800 has a huge issue with the sandisl 95mb/sec SD card
just wasted my $90...
