Sorry i am new here but has Nikon Singapore announced when the D7000 will arrive? and around how much? Just bought my D90 at the COMEX 2 weeks ago..... the feeling sucks..

D7000 will arrive in Oct. The rest of the new stuff will arrive in November. Just in time for Christmas.

Well, D7000 will be hot in demand and will be sold at a premium for the first few months. And the D90 got a price drop earlier this year, meaning it cost you several hundreds less than the new D7000. And plus, you get to shoot earlier.

Just be content with what you have now. Having a much better camera will not help you shoot nicer pictures.

does this mean D90 will drop its price?

i agree with you bro.. i was very tempted by the release of d7000 after looking at its specs and reviews. but i think i'll save that few hundred bucks and get a d90 instead. with that few hundred bucks saved, i can get another portrait lens and other accessories.

I don't think what you've paid for at Comex can match up to D7000's current retail pricing (when it starts selling here). It is probably going to be around 300 to 400 more (maybe much more)than what you've paid for your D90. How much did you spend at Comex anyway? It's always never cheaper to get it at Comex.

Anyway, why not just treat it as a model grade lower than D7000, like D5000's big brother instead? In essence it IS a grade lower. To me, it makes no difference if you have a D90 or D7000 in your hands, since you're totally new to it (even at 2 weeks old).

Move on and use it lad, selling it now would be even more meaningless since you hardly used it at all - you'll lose much more.

The feeling will sucks further if you sell off your D90 at at loss and then fork out more money to buy D7000 and then realised that you can't really see the big difference in Image Quality and do not use most of the new features on D7000.

trust me bro, many of us here has done over with it and kinda regret sometimes on our impulse purchase.

It's good to stay calm, enjoy your D90 more and then see how much better is D7000 before making any decisions to make any change.

Regret my D90 purchase? Nope, never, and I got it 4 months back (I'd still consider that as new). And in between the shoots, I've learnt so much about how to better utilise my cam. It is only after I've used a great number of functions do I realised that I'm beginning to grow out of it (yearning for better performances and features that I understand will suit my growing wants/needs)... It is as good as considering a D300s upgrade, if the D7000 wasn't announced... except that the D300s costs much more...

Look on the bright side. You bought a reliable and tested camera: All software bugs has been fixed, any design flaw has been improved, any production related problem has been solved.
Best of all, you can start shooting :)

WTF? That D7000 ISO3200 sample looks better than my D90 at ISO1600. (down res both to 3000 x 2000). At this res (S8R) the D7000 image is literally noiseless even for the darker areas.

With a $500 30/1.4 (then can do 1/40 or 1/50 easily), or sigma 17-50 2.8 with OS, ISO3200, you are off to taking candlelight pix stuff freehand. Gonna be really affordable + small size. That used to be the league of 5-6k FX.

The only question me is when it will be available in SGP.
I call MS color, they dont accept preorder.
I cant wait any more. I have sold my D70. and only can play my old D70 and D40

I think it's better to wait a month or two so the price would drop. Usually they do that as interest level is very high when the product is first announced/released, and people are willing to buy them. After a while when the initial interest dies down, they will lower the price to attract more buyers. That's the good time to buy. Pre-ordering will waste you a couple of hundred dollars, though you will get your new toy early and brag about it.

Nikon SGP also said they have no news yet. Just wait for an update in their website. Hopefully it will be out real soon. Looking to upgrade from my D70 :)

I'm definitely looking to upgrade to this baby from my D3000. In my opinion, the mag body with moisture and dust seals plus the capabilities of it will serve me well for at least 3 or more years. An investment i'm definitely willing to make.
However, i'll wait till the first batch has made it's pass. Calmer pricing and potential bugs would be rectified by then.

cant wait ! ;p

The waiting game is endless...:bsmilie: While we wait for the market to settle its dust...then BAM! Nikon announces D700 or D300s replacement with an EVEN COOLER and hard to ignore specs, and maybe an EVEN ATTRACTIVE price to boot.... It's a frigg'n viscious cycle folks...:sweatsm:

will this camera have metering on manual lenses just like those dxxx, dx series?
