items is red, i have tested and have no such problems
did not try the full 1500 shots but def more than 250

because now working hour and it will not be proper to draw my camera out and start bursting away in front of my bosses :sweat: so the only way to test is to secretly put my camera in a plastic bag and go to the staff toilet to try :bsmilie: but if my staff saw me snapping in the toilet what will they think of me

just saw the post over at dp forum about the CF card door as well
for those who are still pondering how the CF card door feels like... well the closely thing I can relate to : it feels like the latch of the battery door on your SB-800/600
no lah, different plastic, feels more like the SD card door on the D80, but bigger
in liveview, D700 is 100%, in viewfinder it's 95% due to the anti-dust mechanism. I think this is not a very big issue unless you are a commercial photographer specialising in maco photography.
Are you sure?? What has the anti-dust mechanism got to do with the viewfinder? It's 95% coverage because it's not a pro body so that the operators don't have to do such a precise alignment of the frame in the viewfinder to the sensor. It has been this way since the film days. Did they put a 100% VF in D300?

It's a small disappointment that the D700 has only a 95% VF. For those thinking of buying the D700, well... just console yourself that it's better than 94% VF. If you really need 100% VF on FX, you are only left with the D3 now.
Yes. The compromise on the D700 VF is indeed due to the dust removal system, if the engineer at Nikon France were to be believed.

Hmm.. the video is in a not easily understandable language for me... ;p
It's hard to believe because we know in the past only single digit F bodies have 100% VF, so I guess the anti-dust is just an excuse because that's what lacking in the D3.
The alignment accuracy is a more likely reason to have only a 95% VF.

ha ha those thinking of buying the D700 - one advice... just swipe that plastic or fork out yer cash. :bsmilie:
It's worth it just for the FX and the high ISO performance period.
But it's going to be like buying a Ferrari but the bonnet is made in China kind of quality, the safety belt is kinda too thin, and your left hand can't reach the radio knobs, and the windscreen is a little smaller. other wise it's still a Ferrari with few hundred horse power and your nearest rival is miles behind, the bloke who spend 1/4 more than you is just in front of you running the same engine with a bigger windscreen :bsmilie:

Would you believed an Ang Mo when he tells his friends or the world that Singapore is a City in China. I never believe even 50% of what is circulating in the internet esp youtube.
If the D700 have problem as stated in the video I be the first to complain as it will affect by work and income. So far the D700 has not failed me since last week, jobs done invoiced and waiting for $. And D700 still working for me
