Just sent mine in for servicing SC is about 1.5k. NSC takes 2-3 working days to do a thorough cleaning. If you want it back on the same day, they can do a rough cleaning. I'm not sure what's the difference but I hope there's a difference else I'm without a camera for a few days for nothing. One thing I noted was that that particular NSC staff wans't very careful with handling my camera and lens. Removed the lens and put it rear glass face down into the plastic bag. At least she should have asked if I had the rear lens cap or asked me to remove it myself. Not too happy with that.

Isn't here anybody who doesn't have any debris/splashes at all?

May I ask what serial number you got (just the first 4 digits)? The numbers I saw in stores so fare were pretty low.

Never has that issue with my D600

Any bro here knows how to read the serial number of Nikon Cameras?

I did a search and could only find this.
Do DSLR's have country codes in their serial numbers?: Nikon FX SLR (D1-D4, D600-D800) Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

2 - Japan
3 - USA
4 - Europe (excluding UK)
5 - Canada
6 - Australia / New Zealand(?)
7 - Asia (excluding Japan)
8 - UK
There are also threads on flickr.com about that topic.

my d600 serial is 801***6

affected as in "yes, i hv the dust issue".
bother? no, it's jus 4 tiny specks n visible at f/22.need to try other aperature

Got my D600 back from nikon. It's all clear except for one dust speck (didn't check properly when I received it). I'll probably send it for another cleaning onces it's past the 3k shutter count mark so no biggie.
Let's see if the dust bunnies come back and how fast it takes for them to come back.

The single dust spec doesn't go away with a blower?

I think most of the bros n sisters here aren't bother by 1 tiny dust.

It's only visible at small aperature which u might not use unless u r shootin macro.

I only saw my 4 dusts when I shoot against white back ground at f22....

I haven't tried. Probably will try it later. But a single speck isn't an issue. Prior to sending it in for cleaning, I had ants on the sensor if I shot at f12 or smaller.

did a more thorough checkin today
at f8 and above , the dust specks shows up
they become 'stronger' and "darker" as the aperature value goes higher
my SC at this moment is 1306, so i need to shoot more before sending my cam to SC for cleaning.

A frd's cam serial 803.., same top left abt 4 spots. Very faint start abt f8 onwards against white bg.

Not much an issue for him cause probably never use f8 and beyond..

I saw a Nikon camera's sensor cleaned in a camera shop using the swab and the Eclipse fluid which they also sell here. It looks quite easy to do.
