 Hahaha.. This is funny.. ;pSorry cannot say too much of how good it is cos this is Nikon Forum else I have to infract myself for OT and offend my friends in Nikon SG.
I was reading ken rockwell's review of the camera, i was slightly taken aback but I have to agree with him. The D3x is quite the disappointment. Overpriced and weaker features than the D3 is quite a turn off. I quote Ken, "Today, the D3X offers no improvements over the D3, in fact, it's worse than the D700 and D90 since it still is the same as the older D3. I was at least hoping Nikon would add the better controls of the D90 and D700 in the D3X, but they totally missed this boat.".
I think I will stick to my D3.
good luck...& never buy from sunset 7-elevan....

Hi guys, imaging-resource has posted some lab shots of the D3x.
http://www.imaging-resource.com/NEWS/1230056708.html
The high ISO shots looks quite good. At least quite a bit better than the A900, which was rumored to use the same sensors but was insistently denied by Nikon. It seems like Nikon may be telling the truth after all
I would think the ISO 6400 quality is pretty good... having more luminance noise than chroma noise in the 5DmkII which makes it more film-like but somehow I feel there may be a bit less less subtle details than the Canon....
but I am not a pro like you guys...you may have different opinions![]()
Dunno if Nikon has taken into account the BiG recession when they do their pricing. It's a matter of how soon they wanna to recoup their R&D cost and also, how soon they wanna to launch their next model or whether they wanna to use the profit from other products to fund this one, etc........S$12K???!!!?? really beyond my budget. WIll prob get D700 instead. Nikon.........yr pricing really SCREWED UP big time. Hope u do better next round.
the thing is that Nikon can't reduce the launch price just because of the recession... if they do that now, this category of product will always be stuck at the lower launch price... its a part of market segmentalization, like it or not... if they have a D4X in the future, even if the economy is booming, they would also have to launch at the lower price point if that's what they do for the D3X in a recession, or otherwise people are gonna kick up an even bigger fuss...
like I mentioned in the previous post in this thread, Nikon are merely mirroring its competition's price point for the same category... but what they might do if sales are slow is they might cut prices earlier...
