Coz you are D50 user mah...can transfer your SD to D80!

But will u upgrade? Coz you would prefer 6mp than 10mp :nono:

Haha, ESPN is correct, 4MP even better!

If D80 have VR, I SURE UPGRADE. (The most shoot in 6MP Mode loor)

Not only b'cos I uses D50, But SD cards are also smaller and cheaper.

ok, these are right, looks so sexy in Black! black is classic!

but got VR inbuilt ok! mai siao siao! :bsmilie:

If its uses SD it will be the d200 for me! Also from the look of the body, looks to be similar to d70s, only a few different functions visable, I reckon the d200 will still be better value for money, even if it is like 1k more.

This is more like D50 replacement, using SD card is a big let down.

news from KenRockwell.com
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d80.htm

10 Megapixels (3,872 x 2,592 ), up from 6. (3,008 x 2000)

2.5" LCD, up from 2.0"

4.5 FPS, up from 3.

1/250 sync speed, down from 1/500.

the onyl draw back from D70s is the flash sync speed...

Because I have spent probably near $800 on CF type cards. I dont want to have to go and buy SD cards just to use the cam. Plus I find them slower.

cannot use microdrive? esp for those who like to shoot in NEF and tweak later

wow! :o  $800, now that is alot

I only have 2 CF cards, 1X 1GB and 1 X 2GB

Personally i do not know about the speed thing but SD cards are dirt cheap
and if eventually the technology shifts to SD cards I would really not be too bothered.
After all SanDisk also makes SD cards, i'll check their website for speed ratings later.

Sometimes you need to move together with technology.

microdrive! now that is really old tech, drop one and you will know what i mean.

Do you all think there is high speed syn flash option?
AND
Is the viewfinder of it going to be bigger?

Thanks

I dun wanna! I do not want to reinvest my money into SD cards whne I can just get the better d200. I seriously think, for all d70/d70s users who do not own an SD camera, most will not be pleased that their cards are useless and that they have to go out and buy SD cards. I believe this is a step backwards for the D80 and with a slower flash sync speed aswell. Its not looking good in my books at the moment. More of a d50 upgrade.

because many of us already spent a reasonable amount of money into CF? I just got a 2gb CF a few months ago so this really sucks. At least give dual support mar...what the hell is Nikon thinking? If I were to rebuy a bunch of SDs, it may bring the cost of the D80 plus memory into the zone of the D200....

must somebody know about CF card setbacks that we don't?:dunno:

so i suppose most of you will be upgrading instead of buying another camera
Now i see the uproar

well SD cards are dirt cheap nowadays
you can always trade 1 to 1 exchange

A new 2GB SD card cost about $80 something
anyway if i do buy one, it will be additional to my D70 and not replace

Or maybe Nikon are trying to be clever. Get the d50 people upgrading and potentional d70s people to buy their new product, but d70 people may not want it, so we keep saving and end up spending mor emoney on a d200? :dunno:
