I agree. Technology advances so fast that when I can't catch up nowadays, I just get tired of it and rest for a while. :) Some Pros taught me to be contented with what I have and make full use of it! Make your equipment work for you instead of being a slave of it. :bsmilie:

Yes.. exactly. Trying to keep up will give you less time to shoot. Then before you know it's you're into your 3rd or 4th 500Gb harddisk just to keep your images. I'm already experiencing storage problems with D70s images. Trying to keep up will only be a never ending race.

There is always a DVD writer at less than $100 & DVD+Rs! HDDs will crash one day one! When that happens with all your eggs in one basket.......

Since DVD+Rs and DVD writers are so affordable now, and the cost per Gb of data storage is so low, I have amassed a HUGE stack of DVDs! :bsmilie:

I'm just afraid of the storage (more bags to buy) and that I will have loads and loads of DVDs which I may not refer back to....

Probably need to index my DVDs soon and have a listing of what are the pictures about...

Anyone using the DiscStakker from Imation? Can stored and search thru 100 DVDs

correction 50 discs per stakker
but you can daisy chain the stakkers for an insane amount of discs

I am using one now...But I don't think I want to use it at home though because it uses PC to power and access, it is more suitable in office environment where my PC is switches on most of the time.......another advice from me is to keep a copy of the OS disc and the storage driver disc seperately because if the storage or PC itself conk, you will not be able to retrieve any disc inside and there is no manual eject unless you break open the case :(

Ps: Mine can store 100 discs

Partition lar.....and have another HDD lar......or magnetic tape which can store 400GBs a tape. Still can put all eggs in one basket. Depends on what kinda of basket you are putting in....

Scared what, HD-DVD, 1 disc fits all.
