Heard there might be a new batch of silver Limited Editioin K5 bundled w/ the 40/2.8 eXtra Slim pancake lens availble soon, and it is slightly different from the original silver K5, its grip is the same as the normal K5's grip instead of the bulky one on the original silver K5. It looks more or less the same as the silver K7:

no I guess, ref: Pentax smc DA 40mm F2.8 XS Lens: Digital Photography Review

may because:
1. k-01 targeted users may not care about 35mm coverage,
2. to make 40mm XS smaller the DA 40mm, it has to be for APSC only, like the DA21 for APSC only.
3. full frame users with big camera may not care about the lens size

Yea... Been checking with the shops... So long already still no stocks... Love to stay with pentax but seriously considering switching brands if I still cannot get my camera soon. It's quite a frustrating experience liking Pentax...

After Thailand got flooded, a lot of components that are used in cameras became unavailable. It is only Pentax that is affected.

Another little concern is the flash..... Nikon for sure got very good flash system.... don't know if Pentax flash system will be just as good.... I am actually eyeing the Metz flash, but no stock, got to wait till after CNY....

Btw, do Metz come with the battery pack that Nikon and Canon Flash have?? Concern about battery juice running out half way during an events., also good for improving refresh rates.. hook up a battery pack will have a piece of mind.... but according to the shop, don't have.... :roll eyes:

Edited... read the Metz webpage, think they do have the external pack, just that whether it is available here..... :dunno:... maybe will try CP after CNY...

I use the Metz 58 AF-1 with the Pentax... i find it sometimes have communication problems & settings all off.

Bro, you may want to wait a little longer for the new silver K5... seem "delicious".... just not sure at what price point they going to sell.... ya, this out of stock is hurting everyone.... shop cannot sell, user cannot buy..... hope production will be back to normal soon....

I know this abit out of topic, but I suppose that the K-5 is already so remarkable that even if some new features are added to its successor, the K-5 would probably be more than enough for many users upgrading to it? Its a moot point for now because no one knows the specs of the replacement, but I sure am eying a K-5 to upgrade from my current K-x
