Went there early and got a good spot but ruined by many IDIOTS!!!;( ;(
How can be an authorized that can shoot closely?
I was sitting upstairs and blocked by a big tree. Bad angle of view.
Parade of NIGHTMARE? :bsmilie:
Well, I WAS once in the team you guys hate - crowd control... Many people kept moving forward, getting closer and closer, told them to stand behind the line, they just dun listen... Blocking the photographers? Can't help it...
Something for the night

They should have build something to block people, like a mobile fences and etc, no need to use humans.
Follow ur style.
头可断,血可流,倩女不可不追求 carpe diem, when in doubt, hoot first, apologise later :bsmilie:
You guys complain? i was part of it loh. Think my list will be endless. Overall i'd say that the management, planning, "employed" people, cisco, water distribution point and the ever endless number of "official" photographers and "Media" personnels were ALL BAD. I had to quarrel with alot of ppl today just to find out simple things or to get simple things done like allow the bus to park at the "Designated parking area". Bloody waste of time. And dun be surprise that those ppl wearing the chingay shirt knows ZILT!
haha..really a lot of photographers there... official and non-official..general crowd with pns...
everybody also want to shoot mah...
as much as i think the cisco guys were blocking the people behind..forgive them ba.. its their job mah... cant expect the cisco guys to squat down mah or congregate and stand in specific places mah... the crowd control people also mah..just doing their job... at least i see some of them squatting down...
at the end of the day also have to "blame" fellow photographers mah.... eg. u stand.. i kana blocked.. i also stand.. in the end everybody (ok.. not everybody) stand.. and sometimes it depends on the perspective also mah... cant expect all shots to be from low level rite..and when we ourselves want to want a shot standing up.. we ourselves are blocking others liao.. :bsmilie:
so...peace.. just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the parade!!
Most of the Cisco guys and those crowd control supervisors are quite friendly towards photographers. I saw one kind gesture at one of the junction when they let in one wheelchair guy although he doesn't have a ticket.
But towards the end of the parade, one over-zealous crowd control lady suddenly tugged at my Lowepro Trekker bag (real hard) from behind and shouted (real loud) for me to get out of the way! If this happened at the middle of the road during the show, maybe I can forgive her...but the parade was already over when this incident occurred and I was at the side of the road at Le Meridien Hotel where when I turned and checked, there's already no more floats or performers left!
If it was 10 years ago, I'll gladly swing my monopod at her face.....
Those going tomorrow, expect it to be worse...
2 pics to cheer you up!
