I posted some at page 5 on this thread.![]()
Did you done any PP on your page 5 picture? If not, you may want to tone down your contrast of your camera. Found is to constrasting on the Reds, Blues and Yellow...
Of course, using wide angle lens will be able to cover the overall object..but sometime the luck is not on us...Not everyday is sunday. Also got alot blurr shot, just practise different method loh..
Is this better?

The location I am standing not the performance area. The lighting was quite bad.
Don't really bother to PP those photos coz they make me really mad (I mean those heads in front + the rest unwelcome objects)! :sticktong
But I guess the distance you are at, 50mm f1.8 (w/out flash at shutterspeed of 1/200 - 1/320) can do a good job too!![]()

was quite hard taking group photo for so many people with so many "uninvited guests" posing with us, and photographers all joining in to take the shot. I am glad most fellow photographers responded to our plea for them to move aside ... but cant stop some over-zealous crowd from rushing into the picture ... :bsmilie: (we tried la.. but..nvm)..
I have more shots like this but i shall keep it to myself.. haha
The whole frenzy was over in a moment... and I am glad to have some usable shots.. No doubt we cant force others to get out of the way in a public place, I can only wish some people are more considerate and not join in a pix when obviously they are not part of the group. I guess the basic courtesy is to ask before joining in a photo or to take a photo with the performers (or with anyone for that matter).
Cheers.
Took the below on my D80. Hope to get some C&Cs. Thanks.![]()
Image highly compressed to keep below 100KB.
It was taken with an old fully manual 105mm Tokina telephoto lens f 2.8. The ISO was 250. Speed 1/60. White balance auto.
Cannot compress the picture to fit 100M and still maintain quality. Any idea how to? Tried Picture Project, Microsoft Office Picture, Neat Image etc but still could not get it to fit. Any suggestions?
The original photo seemed very noisy even at the above specs. So I am not sure what went wrong.
Here is a portion of the face of the girl only to show the noise level.![]()

Thanks very constructive. I could not get a clean shot like many. and also with the fixed 100mm lens. Was not sure why there was quite some noise. Did push it up a little as it was "slightly" under exposed.
Very rusty in my photography skills since 10 yrs stop from film. Anyway will try to catch up and practice more. The potential for digital photography is huge for anyone to quickly learn.
Correction to the lens used : 100mm Vivitar 2.8, Macro Telephoto (over 15 yrs old and antique from my film days) Need a place to recommend for clean-up of this old lens if it still could be used on my D80. (Great Macro lens I think.)
