Hmmmm i'll keep a look out for all the good spots where you guys can stand and shoot then let u all know. ;)

Hey guys. I MIGHT have extra Half-Lane ticket(s) for the Chingay tonight (friday). There won't be any seats catered if I'm not wrong. If you are interested, do drop me an SMS with your name to 97932031 before 4pm. I can give you a ring if I have the extra ticket(s). Please do not call me. I may also not respond if there are too many SMSes coming in but I will call you if i have the tickets to pass to you. Hope you can understand.

Like I've said, this is not confirmed as I'll only go over to collect the tickets later and there might be leftovers. I've also no idea of which zone it'll be for now.

I will give any extra ticket(s) away...that means it's free. No point wasting the tickets if there's extra. It'll be nice if you want to treat me to a coffee if you want to.

A little info for Half Lane ticket holders extracted from some website:
'No seats will be provided for Half-lane Ticket holders. Half-lane ticket holders are advised to bring along picnic mats for road seating'

Here's the map of the Chingay along Orchard Rd.

Cheers! ;)

Is better to have at least a 300mm or more focal length lens if you are not at the seats area.
Unless you can go close to the performers during the preparation area (hope it's accessable). And just concentrate on shooting people & their make-up. Lower focal length lenses will do.:)

hey guys..

juz to ask..if there is a performing area..does it means dat e surrounding area is cordoned off?? can i still shoot there? (i intend to shoot from ngee ann city)..

many thanks.. :)

Performing areas mean they will stop and dance for a while. And lighting condition is better in those areas.

Share the same feelings.....they just walk and stand in front of you, especially when they know who you want to shoot! Also...how come so many people can get the official photographer pass(at least 50 plus in one single location)? These "photographers total disreguard who ever that is behind them. They just stand right in front in a group, like waiting for free kicks in a soccer match!!!

but in the end, the crowd control people are still the most screwed up people there. together with the cisco aux police.

imagine this. the supervisor in charge of crowd control can walk past me, smile at me and say happy shooting, and after she walks past, this auntie comes up, and says rudely, "move back".

c'mon, even her supervisor did not ask me to move back, why does she have to do so? and it's not as though there was a big float coming down the road. the road was empty for at least 60cm in front of the crowd line.

eventually even a few mediacorp photographers were pissed and left the area early
