Went to Waterloo to shoot in BW today and just to share some shots there

Thanks I used my 50mm f/1.8 lens for the angel...1st time I am using it outside portrait shots.

Boo yah...awesome lens right? Haha...i love it too...other than my handshake to ruin pictures, it's a really nice lens. Use a tripod for your photoshoot?

Yup..it's a great lens for close shots...I did all my shots handheld cuz today I forgot to bring out the tripod.

LOL! No steady hands..just fast shutter speed to compensate...it was good that this morning there was good lighting

nice angel... and good shot... and maybe you like to consider crop the sky a bit and also the beam below the step where the angle is praying... also wonder how it will look in colour... just my view... result might not be good....

Hey Synchroni...I will try out the crop suggestion. Colour may not be very different as the angel and the cross behind it would are in white and grey. Anyway, I was taking up a challenge to shoot in B/W

i see... tot the angle is in colour as the detail is quite interesting... the wing... anyway B/W look good too.... :thumbsup:

actually you can shoot in RAW and then use the program to apply the BW. in that way you can get both colour & BW. also RAW enables you to change many other aspects of the photo such as contrast, white balance ect

Thats why im always on raw.

That's what I do normally.
Btw, the 450D RAW is very useful one as it got 14 bits.
The JPEG from the camera is only 8 bits.
Therefore, RAW does help to keep more details than the JPEG format.

Be aware for the large file size of RAW files.
How I wish to have sRAW feature for 450D.
Then it can help to reduce some file size when I do not need so big size.
