yeah, that shld "compensate" hopefully! not sure how often/true on the "difficulty in low light AF" for the tammy that users had been complaining about, hopefully its not going be THAT bad.

Always try to use the central AF point for focusing in low light. When equipped with lens of f/2.8 or faster, it focuses fast and accurate. ;)

lidat...dun wait liao, get the tammy 17-50 (so much cheaper)

join us dis sat...me thinkin of gettin a tripod..

then SSS! come join us n spread the love.....:bsmilie:

The voucher promotion is still ongoing huh?

lookin to get the same model as u....

preferred a light, carry up to 4kg and yet affordable....

lookin at dat Benro A350EX but held back due to it price....$165 at OP...

Sorry for asking. What is the purpose of 17-50 lens? I till now don't know what is it all about.

Hiya Joshua...your question seems to have been lost in the speed of the posting here :)

The Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 lens is just an upgrade to the kit EF-S 18-55mm lens. If you are on a tight budget, the Tamron is a good start to upgrade with if you want sharper images and need the speed of a F/2.8 lens. But if you budget is higher you can consider the EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 IS lens that is really a fantastic lens with IS (3rd party lenses in this range don't have IS/VC/OS) but costs so much more.

Oh. My tripod. No problem mounting our cam body with a 70-200. I tried it in real world situation atop Marina Barrage grass roof on a windy day and it stood there like a rock. FYI, I mounted the f/2.8 version. ;)

Fully extended at 1.65 to 1.7 but I always keep it at 1.5m or below for stability. Fast to open and fast to keep. One thing is it doesn't comes with a tripod bag. I got it at $145 at CP in Dec.

Btw, there's a cheaper one 340DX. Everything the same as mine but I think the height is shorter and lighter a bit that all but it still holds a max load of 4kg.

am i the only one who hates the 450D PICTURES thread?
there seem to be a growing trend of drop and run attitude from our posters haha.
the thread is lifeless with not much sharing of constructive ideas.

I suggest we limit the images allowed to be posted by a user weekly + they need to write up some stuffs not just a platform to show off.

K maybe its just me thinking this waylol

This might turn out to be a big turn off for people who just want to share a picture or so without going through the hassle of typing a write up or equivalent statement.

And as always, there are appropriate sections in other parts of Clubsnap that adhere to those rules of which somewhat similar to the ideas which you've stated.

Due to sometime I am busy and even I read it, I won't understand. I don't really know how to see the numbering of lens.

Yup, Jimmy just explained to me this afternoon. If I had known this lens, I would go for 450D body only and purchase this :( Damaged is done and I will proceed with my kit lens

i agree. most images are very 'ho-hum' and ppl just go and drop their pics with a 'c&c welcome :bsmilie:' followed by the next post with the same thing. i got sick of it a week ago and stopped looking at that thread now. dont think i can learn anything from there nor can i teach anyone anything.

Maybe that thread has become a gallery for newbies/those who want to splurge their money on 450D to have a look of what are the images out of the 450D.

Having said that, technically, the picture quality also lies with the lens used. Quite misleading. Nevertheless its a sticky so let it be. ;)

is the efs 55-250 really so good? how much is it?
and...doesn't that mean the lens can only be used on certain bodies?

EF-S is only usable on xxxD and xxD series bodies.

It's value for its money.

Being EF-S, its only for cropped bodies like 40D, 50D, 450D, 400D, 1000D etc.
