Yea..the sensitivity is suppose to be better

According to Canon USA the image format of 6D is 35.8mm x 23.9mm, 5D2 is 36mm x 24mm.
I guess Canon just trim down the 5D2's sensor a bit. Maybe the AF is also modified from the 9 point AF in the 5D2. In this way, Canon is able to use these 4 years old parts to create a new body, reduce the overstocked 5D2 sensors and AF module and cut the cost a lot. Three birds with one stone.
From here:
6D Sensor... why?
Lol the more i read the stuff there the more confused i get..everyone is saying there own stuff....i guess I'll have to try it out for myself in the end....not into the 6d anymore after reading all the t technical specs..

I will just wait for the product launched first and read actual reviews and draw my own conclusion.
It is simply too early to condemn the body base on just specs alone....

I don't think you should take the dimensions too seriously. You will find those two measurements even for exactly the same sensor used in different cameras. We don't even know if they measure the whole pixel area or if they take only the effective pixels for their measurement.
I'm curious... is there really that much difference between cross and non crosstype AF points? Seems like a lot of folks think this is a very sore sticking point with the 6D.

I think that this is a good strategy.
If we go back to the Canon 60D, it was heavily criticized before its implementation. The Canon community bashed it relentlessly on specs alone. Then after it was launched, opinions were drastically changed. As a surprise to almost everyone, it turned out to be a very good camera. Even today, the Canon 60D has a very good reputation.
Perhaps we need to give some leeway to the 6D until it has had its day in court.
I am looking forward to the new rumored sensor in the coming 7D II, 70D, 700D................. to be launched in 2013......... suppose to have better DR....
This is a step in the right direction for Canon. More than anything else, sensor technology appears to be their achilles heal. Elimination of this issue would silence a lot of naysayers.
