Canon 60D Price Reference

Hi Intruderz
Is the Messenger bag same as previous promotion or is it bigger(Sling type) as Rhema83 mention it.
Plan to get one also either 7D or 60D.

thanks

from what I know... 60D should be giving the bigger messanger bag where can put laptop (I got this)... but if you prefer otherwise... think most shops allow change to the smaller 1...

New promotion from 09 December 2010 to 02 January 2011 :-
  • Purchase-with-purchase: EF S55-250 IS lens @ $459, usual $549

I am interested in getting this... too bad I am not eligible...

I don't think the messenger bag is good enough for your camera or your laptop as it has very thin protection. Nevertheless, it is a great messenger bag and I bring it to work everyday. :-D

thanks for the image, not sure whether an do some exchange for the tripod that offer from Canon. Maybe change to battery or 50mm F1.8 lens.

Erm... the free tripod might not be able to support the 60D as it is a semi-pro DSLR... Having a cheaper price when bundle with lens or a better tripod has higher possibility... :-D

I got my 60D with Kit II 18-135mm + B+W UV filter with free bag and 8GB SD card @ 2058 incd. GST (Visa price) from Cathay Photo one week ago.

This seems very expensive to me. Add a maybe around $50-$80 you can get the 18-200 kit already, from other shop

I paid less for the 18-200 kit...

Agreed. The compartments are not correctly sized. Eventually I sold the bag unused, and bought a Crumpler 5MDH instead.

i was planning to buy the camera + 50mm f1.8 this end of year, too bad the promotion for 50mm has been expired.. sienz :(

Ok but did U pay in cash or credit card. If U pay by cash U can deduct 3% off my price. Then maybe U can see the difference. For me I rent the 18-200 lens last week and tried my 18-135, I figure out that my 18-135 feels better and also the pics is quite sharp as compared to 18-200 so I not sure as I am a newbie. Anyway buy early enjoy earlier. No regrets at all.

Hi, No worries. When making purchases, most importantly you must be happy, and it is good that you are :)

I dun own the 18-200, but I did owned the 18-135 before. Maybe my copy was a "lemon", the pic quality was atrocious. I got rid of it soon after. Did try the 18-200 at showroom though, and it definitely feels better than my 18-135.

By the way just for the benefit of others who are looking at buying this camera:

Cash price for 60D kit III (18-200) $2024 + 2% credit card charge=$2064.48 (Parisilk)
UV filter 67mm = $72 get seperately from Henessy from mass sale
Total will be $2136.48

Also the street price of 18-200 is $400 more expensive than the 18-135, resale price difference is around $300. So which kit you choose, it's your choice

Yeah I paid cash.

As long as you are enjoying your new camera, all is good. It's a done deal, and the difference isn't huge. As for the lenses, I tried all three kit lenses and wasn't satisfied with any one of them. So I ended up choosing the one which is the easiest to let go in BnS. I wanted a wider wide-angle and didn't need the superzoom, so I went for a EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM instead. I like it very much as the wide end is good for most landscapes and the long end is sufficient for closeups. It is a high quality and very convenient travel lens.

I couldn't resist the promotional $60 EF 50mm f/1.8 II, so I also bought it. Didn't use it that much, though, since 50mm is actually kind of long for a 1.6x crop body.
