I've always wondered what the difference was between "new member", "member" and "senior member". By the look of some posts, it certainly isn't intelligence!
EXACTLY! :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Hey HotChocolate: I never noticed the Post Count until you mentioned it! This is the first time I've seen it. I guess with my post count, I am pretty low on the totem pole! Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about what others say or the comments they post. Some people are just negative, cutting and miserable by nature. Others are positive, supportive and encouraging.... put them all together and you've got a balanced forum!

hmmm i do agree that the micro af thingy is useful, but i think its overrated.
I think if the 60D is priced right, I'm sure many will want to get the 60D. I may consider getting the 60D myself. Of course like many I was a bit disappointed by the lack of magnesium body, but thinking about it again, a lighter body can be an advantage after a long period of use. The slower fps doesn't bother me as I don't do much action photography anyway.
Now just waiting for the actual launch to get the real hands on before making any final verdict.
hey hey, some of the seniors are very nice people... not all are bad eggs...
after gg shoot with some of them, you will know..
of course i agree that there are some who are very nasty to newcomers.. or people who ask to be spoonfed..
but not all the seniors are monsters la.. some are angels~!!

If one only owns a SINGLE DSLR body, then micro AF adjustment is not important. In fact, I encourage owners of new cameras to send ALL their lenses + camera to the service center for calibration. In-camera adjustment can NEVER match what is provided by the service center (e.g., adjustment for different target distances, for zoom lenses etc).
I know CSC hates me for giving them so much work to do... :bsmilie: But hey, it's not my fault, it's just their factory QC issue...
However, if one owns multiple DSLR bodies, then micro AF adjustment becomes essential...

The news about the 60D gets more and more interesting.....
Here is a quote from a review on the 60D from Digital Camera Info (digitalcamerainfo.com):
"The 60D also brings back the excellent functions from the 50D that improved the camera's compatibility with these lenses: the lens peripheral illumination correction function and the ability to make autofocus microadjustments. The 60D has built-in information for 20 lenses to facilitate the former, but you can add more information if you want to use a lens whose data isn't provided. Microadjustments can be made by ±20 points".
Has Canon updated the firmware to include AF MA? See the original review for yourself:

Ha, ha... Glad to see Canon caving in under pressure. :bsmilie: :bsmilie: Hope Digitalcamerainfo did not make a booboo here.
That's why competition from Sony and Nikon is good.
Canon however did handicap the electronic level in the 60D, which only works in landscape but NOT portrait mode. No big deal for most, I think.
The next hurdle the 60D needs to overcome is its price relative to Sony A55 and the upcoming Nikon D7000.
when it will be released in Singapore? I am giving away my current set to my little brother.. hoping to get 60D

can i be your brother too??
the a55 does seem more advance, but it loses out in quite a lot of things, such as battery life, lens choices, viewfinder (electronic v optical), 9 cross points af v 15 point AF with 3 cross points, weather sealing.. etc.
