Sorry but i think that the battery grips are to give you more performance? Not to last more shots from what i know sorry new to this it's just what i read from the rest

The battery grip acts as a "shot life extender" and as a grip when shooting portrait orientation. That is you can add more battery then you would normally do.

You can add a second battery into the battery grip to extend battery life.

Any idea if there's 3rd party battery available now for the 450D?

Had been using the 450D for a week or so. Battery life very good. So far I've not recharge my battery yet.

Love the anti-dust function. No dust spots on my pictures... yet.

Live-view good for precise focusing but rather impracticle to use it in the field. Hard to judge the sharpness on the LCD under bright lighting.

I owe a 450D. So far so good for a entry-level. I'm not sure what you would like me to elaborate about, but it's ALMOST the same as 400D. one more thing, the Live View is accurate.

@ live mode its focusing is very good

Both 18-55mm IS and 55-250mm IS offers very good focal range at very affordable price. Their tiny size and lightweight go down very well of the 450D.
