wow... is the price list for lens updated?

Updated price list? Checked out B&H + $30 on average and multiply exchange rates, that is the updated price list. (Do note that the exchange rates charged by credit cards are a lot higher).

Hi..price I got from TK is slightly below 2.6k.

I just checked the Canon SG website - yup new list prices alright.

e.g.
EFS 10-22 dropped from 1,480 to 1,299, so street price should be about 1,000
EF17-40L dropped from 1,590 to 1,299,
EF24-105L from 2,690 to 1,999 so street price should be about 1,550
EF 70-200 4L IS to 1,999 so street price should be about 1,550
EF 85 1.8 down from 780 to 629!!
EF 50 1.4 down from 800 to 629!! street price should be under 500!
EF 50 1.8II down from 160 to 139 street price $110-115? super value now

Prices in Singapore should now be more reasonable down 15% on the street I would say. Street price drops may be less than list price drops due to reduced discounts off list

Dang, all my lenses suddenly depreciate 15%

wah sui ar! let's hope they start lowering their cam prices soon :bsmilie::bsmilie:

It seems the primes didn't get a price change. Only some of the zooms.

My.. Gosh!!! Heng I didn't rush to buy all my dream lenses yet!

wah.. price drop is a good thing or a bad thing?:) Anyway is a good news.. hope the body also drop..:D

List price of:
135L F2 - $1399
200L II F2.8 - 1499
The first time 135L cheaper than 200L. I Like it!

40D ~$1580 /w digital photo frame ($299) + 2GB CF
if only they take away the photo frame and the 2GB CF for ~$220
The 40D body would be ~$1360! That would be a good deal indeed, I'll buy it straight away.
This pricing is close to the <US$1k price tag with rebates.
Current 450D body ~$1150 only. The 40D will fly off the shelves with the $200 difference.
Canon needs to redo this 'free gift' promo for DSLRs.....

Bro, where you got the quote from? 135L cheaper then 200L? Wah unbelievable....;p

I think in this price drop, the people doing MOs will be the hardest hit. Especially if they have ordered a shipment coming in with the 'old' price and has no committed buyers.

Going forward, with Singapore price getting much closer to HK price, there is 'no meat to eat' in providing MOs anymore since the price difference might not be that significant anymore.

As RUSS suggested, its on the Canon SG website > EF Lens Lineup.

CS TAN is right, if the prices lower by $100-300, lenses will be close to HK, with the addition of GST. I would not mind getting locally (15mth warranty!)
Local retailers are affected by the MO a lot, and probably promted Canon SG to take action to protect retailers. If this theory is correct, we have a lot the thank the MO gang for. But there will still be a MO market for niche products.
Next to see how the local pricing settles down.

$1100?

I hope its around the area, i also hope the 35 f/1.4 and 24 f/2.4 got price drop. But based on canon's website price list, it doesn't seem so. Sigh*

Why doesn't canon just sell cameras without free gifts , e.g photo frame. and lower the cost, not everyone wants those gifts. Make that 95% of people would rather not have the gifts at a lower cost.

Dang, all my lenses suddenly depreciate 15%

why worry about depreciation? at least if u bought earlier, u would have used it to take some nice pictures...somethings are price less and cannot be measured in terms of $ and cts...unless of course u bought the lens to display in your dry cabi only...;p

Was at CP-M earlier, and was quoted $530 for the EF 85mm F1.8 :)

How about 24-70 f/2.8? Any price drop?
