There are some samples i saw the iso performance of d800 is if not better, can compete with d700... That is one. They say having more pixels are bad, but if you don't need it, you can adjust the image size right? Large is 36, medium is 20 and small is 9 i think... Plus if u have a dx lens that you dont have any plans of selling yet, you could still have a 15mp from a dx lens...then buy fx lens in the future. Hd video is cool also, i dont need to buy a separate video cam.

Of course we all need to wait for the review when the cam is available... But for now, d800 is awesome based from what i saw from some sites. Before i buy, ill check the "actual" reviews first for sure.

I think 3,800 inc gst already.

The Australian Recommended Retail Price (after their 10% GST) is AUD$3,900. I just checked XE.com... 1 AUD$ = 1.32552 SGD$. That would work out to be S$5169.

Wow... how come? US only US$2,999 (see amazon). And USD is low that AUD now... Aus kana chop. IMHO anything more than SGD$3,888 RRP will be a bit too expansive for a hobby camera for my case.

At the same reproduction size, be it for print or for screen, the D800 images would have equal or less noise than the D700, but much more detail. The various samples that people have been posting over the past few days proves this undoubtedly. Looking at images at 100% and judging noise performance has no relevance to real world use whatsoever.

On topic, the D800 was launched in India today for INR 150k which is on par with the USD 3K price on amazon. I've heard from a source that you could get as much as INR 15k off that price, which is not bad at all. Given that pattern, it should cost approx. SGD 3.7K here. Has Nikon enforced the minimum price policy in SG yet?

I'm holding out for the D800E though. Having worked with a D70s extensively, I'm familiar with moire and the rare chances where it occurs in my kinda shooting.

Errr US is 5 years warranty leh......

Excuse me, Uncle.

$3800 is a bit expensive for me.
Can it be sold to me at $3250 ?

3 words: wish long long

someone had done the maths earlier already.
2,999 USD at today's exchange rate = 3,797 SGD
Add 7% GST on top of the price and you get 4,063 SGD.

My personal bet on D800's Singapore RRP is $4,099 SGD.

I think us price have tax included already... Right? So converted in sgd it should be at least same... Correct?

I agree with that price.. Or maybe max is $4299. It definitely will not be below $4k for sure. Research will tell u more. Direct conversion will not tell u how much it cost but only a guide. I am betting on justarius guess. $4099 to $4299.

If they're gonna charge 4.3k for it, I'll be looking around for the cheapest flight tickets to HK/ MY/ IND, for sure.

Seriously not nterested to know the RRP..... it can be $1,000,000 for all I care... I care about how much the friendly neighbour store gonna sell it for.... then again... prob wont buy now....

The price here from $3600 now go up to $4600 Liao ....

If the D800 still don't come to us, very soon it will be $7000 plus....

:(

Most of the time, it will be more that currency convert. For most electronics, we are paying more and getting less support.
RRP usually differs from actual street price by quite a bit.

Btw, some D4 has been shipped to NPS in other countries. Wonder how are our local NPS treated? Do we have one in CS?

canon has released thier price for the 5DMK3
The new camera body will retail at S$4,699 locally while the kit with the customary EF 24-105mm F4L IS USM lens will go for S$5,999.
