So, if you convert to Sing dollars, it's only S$1545..

Which shop did you go to? Does it come bundled with any memory card?
The cheapest I saw was RM3710 (kit) with 256 mb card.

The new Times Square.. the price range from M$3400 to M$3500.. don't think there is any memory card bundle.. I think it can be cheaper if you bargain.. only visited 2 shops.
I asked them why it's cheaper in Malaysia.. and the common answer from them is that Nikon cameras in Singapore are shipped from M'sia.. For Nikon camera, M'sia will always be cheaper.. don't know how true is this claim..

not true. One PMer at PhotoMalaysia.com just bought one body only at RM2.8k

With the strong S$ now, very cheap buying in Malaysia.

you're absolutely correct. they will sell at RRP (or close to it) and give you "free gifts" which may not be useful for the tech savvy as we'd likely to have them already.

it may be attractive to people starting out though.

Come to think of it, Nikon already give u many freebies such as a huge buffer, 3fps, long lasting lithium battery, spot metering, a big LCD, etc and most of all a wonderful lens :thumbsup: . With a lower price now, if I were you I would not hesitate a single moment.
