Brother, sad to say that I have been asking a few shops (those well-known ones in Nikon forum), and most of them are selling at $1,680-$1,800 with zero free gifts. This is to say that SITEK was damn good deal which after deducting the freebies, the D70 kit set was only $1,478+.

I have also enquired from APO Photo, the dealer which was manning the Nikon booth during SITEK regarding the promotion. The answer is NO. :cry: No more such good deal. Many shop owners that I have spoken were quite surprised that APO Photo was selling at $1,988 with close to $400++ freebies. How to make profits, say these owners? :dunno: What ever is it, it's over, so no point to be sad.

However, there will be a PC show in March 2005, so some of them actually asked me to hold on my bullets till that date if you are not urgently needing it. There will be a promotion again, maybe together with the new model 'D200'. Having said that, I shall give it a miss now, and wait till next year March as I am not in the hurry.

Brother, since you need it for your overseas trip, go get it, don't wait lor. I can accompany you to the shop in case you get chopped.

Actually guys, if you wanna wait, wait for the next body. Do not wait coz you wanna save like 100 bucks for things that are not really usefull at all anyway. That figure is nothing in the grand scheme of things

Actually about 1650-1700 for D70. Add in 2GB Lexar 80x for 299, it's about 1988 also what. You lose out on the flimsy tripod which is worse than a Slik U9000, no big deal. Ok, the bag, it's quite usable (i myself am using an older version of it, Rover AW II keep for serious purposes) but if you don't like the word Nikon outside then tough.... Vest, bo bian, next time buy from outside about $25-30 lor. Else i literally don't wear it unless i am shooting for money and that venue is chaotic and needs me to properly ID myself. Usually people nowadays keep equipment in belt pouches. Else vests are a bit passe. Somemore the vest is in beige in colour, literally useless for weddings and indoor events (where you'd want to wear black anyway to maintain low-pro). Anymore?
