Here are some more shot from the Zeiss Olympic 180mm. I used a M42-EOS adapter, chip set @ f/4. Shots were taken from tripod. PP done on WB and exposure.

Taken @ f/4. The bokeh is very circular, thanks to the 18 blade aperture.

The DOF is also very thin. @ f2.8, it was tough trying to focus, and slight movment of the focusing ring make a lot of difference. Even the goslings which is slightly in front of the mommy is out of focus. The lens is also a little soft wide open. stop down to f/4, it is sharp to capture details.

Seems like a very good find. The bokeh is rather different, too smooth.
It was a very rare find here in Moscow. There are a lot of tiny bubbles in the front glass element, and the rear element is actually multi-coated. The bokeh is rather different, but I still need to take more pictures with it to know it real power... haha

Thanks, I have been taking lot of duck shots lately, and I kind of neglected my favorite topic; street candid and landscape. So today I took a walk using a CZJ Biometar 80mm f2.8 MC on an Arax tilt adapter. Here are some pictures taken with this combo.

A fantastic shot from the latest ZE 35f1.4 on 5DII posted on FM alternate forum.

@Anthony Lee, How much you got your 35mm F1.4 ? Been hunting for this lens.

I don't own it yet, just reposting this shot that was posted in the FM alternate forum. When I get back to Canon, this will be no. 1 on my list of lenses to buy. Waiting for the the next upgrade of the 5d2. I believe you should be able to get this from a few places, Cathay, Oriental or Alan Photo. Heard that the demand has exceeded supply, so you may have to book your order with either Cathay or Oriental.

Might be a good idea to have a Zeiss outing?
What do you all think?

Sounds good. You may want to start on thread in "gatherings and outings" subsection and post a link to that post here.

Anthony, has Pentax done anything for you? Time to move back to the Canon side. The trinity of 21/2.8, 35/1.4 and 100/2 are awaiting you :)

There was a thread started in the newbie subsection with question on Zeiss "3D pop". IMO, there are some skewed opinion that "3D pop" is subject isolation, burry bokeh, etc. I think this "3D pop" is probably best illustrated by Zeiss lenses owners.

Maybe we can help to show the answers here. So brothers and sisters, please post your photos with "3D pop" :)

My nephew, Steven. Taken with the cheapest CZ 50mm 1.7. I like the micro contrast output from this lens.

N 17-35 @ 17mm f8. You can see small aperture also have the "3D pop" effect

Not sure is it easy to find the Contax version of 35mm f/1.4. That is another option for you.
Have one and not selling though I hardly use it but you can come by my place to view.

MWP, was away for a holiday up at Taman Negara. Pentax has taken me backwards. Nothing like the simplicity of using manual focus lenses on Canon bodies and the abundance of different mounts that can be used. Now that Pentax is sold again, this time to Ricoh, I really am in a fix as I will lose a hefty sum if I were to sell now. Really missed my old lady, the 5D. Hope to be back in the near future, maybe when the 5d3 or 3D comes out. Cheers.

Not sure if this has the 3D pop out effect, i am a terrible critic.

hi all...how come i cannot attach image de???thx for help...

Like to share the CZ Planar F2 100mm at a recent studio shoot.

Slightly overexposed on the right side. I find Zeiss lenses less flattering for portraits due to it being too high in contrast and sharpness. How do you post process ?

Is she really Ms Singapore World 2008?
