Thank you for looking !!

Not so sure if anybody is interested with the photos taken with ZF 25mm F2.8 for closeup/macro shot?
closest focusing distance of the lens is 17cm, which mean is only 2-4cm infront of the lens filter.

You must have been dangerously close.

It's already “吊壁“,sharp teeth but toothless. Can get very close without fear :)

Wow just can't for mine to come back from conversion to test.

The wait is worth it. The optical formula of the 50/1.4 has not changed. I will take it that there is no way they can improve on its design. So one with AF is so much more convenient.

As long as it is taken by a Zeiss, we are all interested.

Contax N 24-85 with the waterfall series.

That was shot at Dubai Mall. Are you based in Dubai as well?

Hi guys,

I've been looking at the Zeiss ZM 50mm lenses: The Sonnar f1.5 and the Planar f2.0. Just like to know which lens is better at reproducing the the 3D separation effect seen on the photos below:

I've heard good things about both Zeiss lenses but would like to hear from your experiences as well. P.S. The photos above were taken with a Konica Hexanon 60mm f1.2 lens on a Leica M9.

Cheers!

I see. So can the ZM Planar F2.0 give the shallow-depth-field to create the 3D separation effect? Or do you require a lens with a larger aperture, like the Sonnar F1.5?

I have been using the ZM 50/2 and quite like it.

Have not tried the ZM 50/1.5. Have been thinking about the optimised for f2.8 version. But now want to try the ZM 25/2.8 first.

U can search the net for more examples by both the lenses. To me 50mm at f2 has enough shallow depth of field, u can narrow the depth of field by moving closer to your subject, or use lens with longer focal length.

Today, I manage to find a carl zeiss Olympic 180mm f2.8 (M42 mount) sitting quietly in a 2nd hand store. It was recently put on sale just 2 weeks ago. Bought it immediately after I checked that it was working properly. it is a heavy lens weighing in at 1.33kg. Took some test pics with it and the results are nice. Will post pics I took of it once I find some time to take it out for a shoot. :)

Love this lens. Though it is heavy, focusing & aperture setting are easy when used with a monopod. Results are very nice too.

PP done on WB and highlighting of the eyes.
