Need advice from bros... i have recently tracked down a ziess biotar 75mm f1.5 M42 mount. I was drooling when I touched it, it was in good condition with some user marks.

After mounting it on my 7D, the portraits were great, but there is an infinity focus issue, and the price is way sky high... with an asking price of around 2.5K. (I can get a 300 f4L)

When I came back home, I did some photo shots, and realise that it was my adapter ring causing infinity focus issue on my other lenses. So there may not be a problem with lens after all.

I know that it is a uber rare lens. So my question: is the price worth it? Anyone out there have this lens or bought this lens before?

Slightly overexposed on the right side. I find Zeiss lenses less flattering for portraits due to it being too high in contrast and sharpness. How do you post process ?

Is she really Ms Singapore World 2008?

Right side overerposure due a light with snoot to create a hotspot on background and no PP done.
Yes she is Ms Singapore World 2008.

I feel the price is on the high side. It will depends if u want the lens bad enough.

if I can get a proper adapter and have the lens focus to infinity... I think I will get it. With some initial close-up shots, the swirly bokeh, and the way the lens isolate the subject is too unreal. If I get it, it will be the lens that I will use to take full length portraits.

Found out that it is an old version of Contax-S M42 mount. so have to recheck it again this weekend with different M42 adapters.

Zeiss Biotar 58mm f/2 @ f2.8. These shot was taken @ Moscow City Race 2011. She had beautiful green eyes. Touch up on the eyes, tone control and removed some blemishes on skin. Otherwise it is all done by this wonderful little lens.

Perhaps you should get the Ee-S focusing screen very suitable for manual lenses to help you focus better.

Excellent. Love the drawing style of this lens, very classic.

Thanks, The shot was composed in the classic golden spiral rule.

During the Moscow City Race, there were lots of long legged slim russian model/promoters walking up and down the VIP area. But sadly most had eyes of dead-beat.

This girl is different, her eyes were riveting. Sadly her, figure is not that great, so I only focus neckline up.... hahaha

Any body here interested in ZM 50/1.5 Sonnar?

Just got my converted CZ 50mm 1.4 sharing a shot @ F2

excellent bro! How far away are you from subject. You bring out the sharpness and 3D very well.

I just sold me converted copy and am contemplating if I should send my unconverted one for conversion.

About 3ft away from her. Yeah I was actually wondering why you sold off your existing piece When you posted that pic I was truly awed.
