Thanks, I was also wondering about how to take IR shots. But how will I know if the adjustments made to white balance is "correct" when shooting at green grass with the IR filter? Also, do I still need the IR filter after customizing the white balance?

(1) Test first, take cam near your place on a sunny day and try the custom white balance and take a few shots .. go back home post processes, repeat until satisfied. ;p
(2) Join one of the local IR outings and compare with the others what sort results others get

I have gotten myself the 43mm-52mm step-up ring and will like to ask the experts around if the Nikon HN-2 will be a suitable hood to be used with the GX100, now with the ring? If not, are there any other hoods that are suitable?

I have yet to buy the HN-2 as I didn't bring my camera down to CP and a staff there strongly objects to using the hood. Think will go down again to try it out myself.

OK, another option is HN-1, which is meant for wider angle (24mm) lens and might be a better choice if HN-2 vignettes (since it was designed for 28mm lens) ...
