I need purchase extra SD tomorrow for my incoming holiday.
Anyone for recomendation which is good/better?

For Ricoh GX100 and Nikon D80.

Not sure if I need a fast SD card or not since Ricoh GX100 is 10megapixel and also intend to use the movie mode for the fun shoot.
Anyone got any recommendation ?

Bought mine at 6.30pm. Think that might have been the last 1 or 2 so better call to check availability.

The battery is exactly the same as Panasonic CGA-S005E (for LX1, FX01, FX8/9)

I was there around 4 plus.
Yes, I also bought the 3rd party.

never hurts to have a fast reliable card.

No harm getting faster cards if the price is good...

I bought this Sanyo 4Gb SDHC card from some little obscure shop on the 5th floor of SIM LIM SQUARE (not sure of the exact addr but its right across DAT computer).

Turns out pretty good for its price ($56). Its a real Class 6 card (benchtested on my PC, 6.3Mb/s WRITE, 15Mb/s READ). Been 'pounding' the card aggressively recently, lots of read/write cycles, so far so good.

Only 'issue' is warranty is covered by the shop/supplier. I think these cards might have been 'debundled' from Sanyo Xacti MP4 video camcorders thats why so cheap.

I will be going to Cambodia this coming Tuesday.
Will test test the GX100 on Angkor Wat.

Will post and print S8R size when I return back.

GX100 sure can pass one lah!

i've printed quite abit of S8R pics from my GRD..not a problem at all.

Enjoy ur GX100!!!

Nice pics bro! ;)
Thanks Bro ;)
Btw for GRD do you have problems with metering? Sometimes really weird metering. Had to AE lock on another scene before framing shot again.

What metering were you using, I find the spot metering a scam so had been using evaluative all the time. If necessary can do compensation with the Adj button if you set one of the functions for it. My Adj button is set to AE Meter, ISO, Focus, Expo Comp and the Fn button to AE Lock but will change once I get used to other requirements.

Thanks Bro ;)

Keep ISO levels to 400 and below. This shot is taken with the wide angle adaptor.

Is the camera made in china?

Can you guys post some photos at it's widest angle.

Cheers :)

Btw, for those who have bought the GX100.
Reading the details, it stated that the hood is 43mm thread.
Not sure if there is 43mm filter selling around.

yeah. parchiao is rite - CP carries them. but u might need to get a separate lens cap for it cos the ricoh's lens cap dun seem to fit onto any filters... dennis was testing it last week when we were at the shop. ended by KPKBing abt it... :complain: we were testing it on a raydawn filter.

i'm using a ultra II 2GB SD card. so far, the writing spds frm cam to card is pretty good with the ultra II. give it a go! and we will wait for ur pics. have a good trip, KT! :)

43mm cap already have but there is no 43mm IR filter but if you are just looking for UV it is relatively easy to find. Yes the original cap don't fit when you put on the adaptor

i leave it as the default "multi". for high contrast scenes, i've set the Fn button as my AE lock. so far, works fine, tho i might be adding a cir pol soon... if CP carries them.

oh yeah. those quick snappers, u might want to change the AF to 'snap'. it really cuts down on the AF hunting times. ;)

Ask your favourite person to get the 43mm->52mm (or whatever sane size for you) adapter ring ....

Think it's set to multi. If I think it's wrong, i AE lock on a diff scene and reframe.
Btw, I went out to shoot with the lowepro pouch, very good, but not enuff space for the lens adapter :p
