haha, it's pretty hard to use ah the silver one. Do you know where to buy the black one? That seem like the perfect porch.

I have a P5100 but the pix r no where near any of those posted here. with or without flash the pix still look so noisy... only good for outdoor daylight shoot. can anyone tell me why? also how to put photo here? i would like to put some up for u guys to advice.

set the ISO to the lowest for the least noise
eg. 64

for image posting instructions: there is a sticky thread in the newbie forum that has the instructions

I bought the cam and it comes with the black case. The black case has a word "Nikon" embossed in front instead of the "Coolpix" metal plate. It is the standard case for P5000 & P5100.

Some shops give you the silver pouch, which is not means for P5000 series. They want to keep the better looking P5000/P5100 black case which I found it to be a bit dishonest.:(

for still pix with tripod set iso to 64, is it? but what about taking pix of human like dinner, or home with kids? iso 64 will require flash which most of the time will loose all the background... right?

Argh! really!!!!!

:(

I must go back to mine shop to ask for the black case. worst come to worst buy it. :(

let's do a little survery for P5000 and P5100 about what kind of case was given to buyers.

Silver case:
valkyrie
Gomobile (Harvey Norman)

Original Black case:
rredline

Yaaay, I got mine today :D

I have a day off tomorrow so it will be "PLAY TIME "

but these were taken while i was having my morning cup of coffee
all in P mode just change the ISO

ISO 200 ~ 400 still OK

ISO 800 still can tahan, these are 100% crops
I will try one using Noise Ninja and post results later

really? but the black one seems to be the right pouch so that the neck strap sit right into the bag.

I tried the macro this morning ......

Will try a few shots outside later on today :)

This afternoon.......

Cheers :)

Just for curiosity, I tried the face detection. It locked in on a face in an A3 photo I have.

Neat :)

It locks on faces on tv too. hahaha.

Just came back from the store where I fiddled around with this Cam. Must say it feels pretty neat in my hands. G9 is much bigger. P5100 is well priced compared to G9. Does this cam support Raw? Asked the sales person but he was clueless.

Anyone else considering between this 2 cams also?

Thanks.

No Raw support

If only this camera had RAW and Wide Angel lens, waiting to replace my coolpix 5400

Nikon P50 , no reviews yet, this has less manual control, no raw but comes with wide angel lens.

I really liked the FZ18 from Panasonic, it has everything you can ask for in a camera, too bad the image quality seems to be an issue.

Hi, I guessed it would, but I was watching an advert for Canon printers at the time and it just shut down :bsmilie:
