It is a shame that the P5100 does not have RAW, but it is not quite a camera I would compare with something like the G9.
My reason for this is that I look at the P5100 as being a good quality P&S camera with manual control.
The G9, as well as useable as a P&S camera (but heavier and bigger) is more like a DSLR without the "SLR" :bsmilie:

I mean it like this..... I would use the G9 in a studio and for landscape where I might have used a DSLR.
The P5100 I would use as a walk around P&S camera.
In a nut shell, I would use the G9 in situations where the controll of RAW would be needed.
The P5100 would be for photography that doesn't require such PS work.
Hope this is not too scatty an observation
