i always thought why put camera into phones and why not phones into camera... they started with 0.3MP and now up to more than 8mp on phones... just put the small phone chip into the compact camera body la for goodness sake... the base is already there, lcd screen, lens, sensor, just an additional small phone board will do....

sorry.. OoT

haha :bsmilie:

Yes, my Sigma 18-50mm occasionally gives me back focusing issues, but constsently performs well. But now, after mounting onto A900, it is back focusing all the way.

:(
since lens chip data didn't change, may be can try on cleaning the contact point? Check on A700 focusing on other lens. The worse probably need to sent to Sigma for service.

mmm...since it is lower-spec than A900, it better be below $4k...haha but the question is how much...

ah....u may be single-handedly supporting our economy....haha

mmm.... a gear-geek? :sweatsm:
i am expecting it to be below 3.5k.... below 4k might be the price drop for a900

well.. i hope it doesnt have Live View.. than perhaps it'll be much cheaper...

LV is like a car's reverse sensor/camera to me.. for decades people have never relied on reverse sensors for parking. now its like a must in all cars. same goes for camera.

for those weird angle shots? well... those days, in cars without reverse sensors/cameras, they do go out of their car to check how close their rear bumpers are to the wall. in this situation, photographers could always aim, shoot, check the angles and readjust. i mean, havent they been doing that before LV was implemented in DSLRs?

bottomline is, implementation of LV in my opinion will only make the camera a little costlier.. save the money for something more worthwhile..

I agree with you bro. I have never liked live view.

thanks.. its not that i hate live view. i feel its totally unnecessary in a pro spec camera. its just another + to the specs list and another + to the price list which i believe we all could do without. :)

mmm... i for one dun mind the extra $....as long as it is within 3k - 3.5k

Yup, this is very precisely my sentiments towards Live View feature. I've always looked at LV cams as Tourist Cams. If we imagine & fantasize a few thousand years into the future, it won't be surprising that DSLRs will come with an android photographer that does everything for the owner, and yield perfect pictures everytime. :bsmilie:

well, even if its an extra 100-200 bucks for live view, i would rather use that money to spend on accessories such as grip, filters, bags or etc..

but anyhow.. i just hope Sony will come up with something better than my A700 in the more affordable range.

but sadly... LV is in the trend... if the new body comes out with LV, bo pian suck thumb if price is higher, if is cheap, will be a bonus

i think ur eyes is worth more than 300mp:bsmilie: if cameras can be like our eyes, the dynamic range power will be damn good, and its not high ISO, is ultra/ultimate ISO with pure noise control

sorry.. OoT again

 Muuaahahahahaaaa !!!
Finally... laid my grimey hands on the Planar T 85mm CZ!
This piece of glass is a Jewel! :D
Was eying it since when it was retailing at S$2,599 in 2007.. now $1,999 is simply irrisistable! ;p

sony wisma mount CZ85 onto its display A900. it was like 5kg?

So now with the economy gone curdled, December will be the month for me to get the SONY 35mm G. :D
