bro, gary fong's universal lightsphere is universal, comes with a strap to fit any flash.

but there are several replicas in the market as well.

got mine here: - http://store.tagotech.com/index.php?cPath=21&sort=3a&page=2

there are different sizes available. just do a quick measurement on ur F58AM and counter check with the size chart in the website.

hey bro thanks, I'll go check it out.
quite sick of my DIY food container popping off when I least expect it to... :embrass:

Well, after picking up the A900 body, got bitten by the buying bug.

> added another dry cab - a small cute 30L one to house just the A900 & 2 A700... hehehe just bought another A700 because of the attractive price.
> got another F58AM - just looking at my old Minolta 5600HS made me feel I should get one more.. just in case..
> and of course, a couple Ducati 8Gb CFs
> oh and A900's LCD protector

... now lets see how the A800 will be like...

Oh yah! One more thing to share:

After trying out one of my Sigma lens (18-50mm DC) on the A900 body, I discovered it has Back Focussing problem when I mount it back on my A700!

My thinking now is NEVER mount Sigma DC lenses onto A900. Only the older 35mm lenses or those Sigma DG EX lenses.

I am not entirely SURE that mounting Sigma DC lenses onto A900 causes Back Focussing issues, but I would rather err on the side of caution. :o

wow.....one A900 and two A700....it is like 2+n redundancy!

r u a professional photographer?

This seems like an ego boosting thread.Only that the reek is becoming pungent.

The lens chip info should not changed just because you mount it on A900, does the Sigma 18-50mm have back focus on A700 before?

I think the forums are rife with rumours that SONY will release a lower resolution FF camera next year. The name bandied around is the A800. If that is the case, then that would likely be the camera I go for... I cannot imagine processing 24MP files... even the JPEGs will be huge...

yup....holding out for it too....sigh....when will it come?:heart:

early next year. 1st quarter? hope the price is decent

such a long wait.....sigh....:bsmilie:

anyway with A900 at 4k, i believe the A800 will probably debut at 2k+? 3k?

any rumours on the features of the A800?

Yes, my Sigma 18-50mm occasionally gives me back focusing issues, but constsently performs well. But now, after mounting onto A900, it is back focusing all the way.

:(

I think, first quarter of 2009 will see us well into the US led recession here, & should the A800 release within these austere times, chances are GOOD it will be favorably priced.
I imagine somewhere below 4K, but above 3.5K. Which I think will likely pique my interest as well...
Screw the economy, I'm shopping still.

By the way, I'm no Pro-photog - just an enthusiast who collects more than he shoots...muahhahahahahahaaaa!

Let me tell you why I collect more than I shoot;
it's simple, I barely have the time to go out shooting.
Collecting, caring, fiddling, and doing home shooting projects suits me best.
Occasionally, when there's a window of time for me, I might go out night shooting. But that's only IF I'm not dead tired after the day's work. :D

...err, Video?
Might as well add in ability to make phone calls & surf the Internet with it..
this will really evolve the traditional functionality of a Camera.

i always thought why put camera into phones and why not phones into camera... they started with 0.3MP and now up to more than 8mp on phones... just put the small phone chip into the compact camera body la for goodness sake... the base is already there, lcd screen, lens, sensor, just an additional small phone board will do....

sorry.. OoT

haha... maybe the increase in pixels magnify the problem? haha...:bsmilie::bsmilie:

just a joke....dun hantam me.....;p

anyway, A900 allows u to customise focusing for different lens up to a certain number, right? think is called the microfocus or something...can use it so that the lens can work well on your A700

mmm...since it is lower-spec than A900, it better be below $4k...haha but the question is how much...

ah....u may be single-handedly supporting our economy....haha

mmm.... a gear-geek? :sweatsm:

16mp, FF, 100% VF....... come to papa, baby.....haha

video not necessary for me...but if they give me that, i'd take it!

clean high iso? think it should be if it is 16mp FF, probably cleaner than A700 and prb A900 due to the lower pixel density (or what they call it? the number of pixels per inch/cm of the sensor?) since it is able to gather more light per pixel? :dunno:

woah....a James Bond device out of Dr Q's lab! maybe can shoot missiles too? :sweatsm:

haha... trust me....one day in the future, someone will look at the models we have currently and say "how'd they shoot with that type of camera?".....

History is full of examples - when DSLR first came out, when first AF SLR came out, etc....
