maybe there's some mode 'animation' on the lcd as you cycle through the physical dial. and also, maybe the animation will contain some help information

..is that a bronze-colored a330? i can't seem to enlarge the thumbnails

NO Movie mode? CANIKON already have movie mode on their entry level DSLR.

Considering what Nikon can do with the D5000, i'll be seriously disappointed if Sony can't have a better ISO performance on the new series... The sensor seems to be the same as current a200/300/350 ones... :-s

seems the same sensor.
kind of disappointed.
like sensor units got many left over so make use of it.

Also important to note: The sensor division of sony is SEPARATE from the DSLR section. The DSLR section buys what the sensor division can offer.

Most importantly:

* The SAL-1855 standard zoom lens will cost about $200.
* The SAL-55200 telephoto zoom lens will cost about $230.
* The SAL-50F18 portrait lens will cost about $150.
* The HVL-F20AM flash will cost about $130.

Good prices!

Looks like the pop up flash of the newer series is much higher than that of the current A200, 300 and 350.

Whatever it is, we can only wait till it's official release + the actual field usage to put those machines through their paces, then would know if they are good cameras, or not - with references to their price tags. No doubt, I think these cameras would be good ones in their own right.

I personally still prefer still cameras to remain still cameras, as video equipped SLR cameras are fun to use, but are ergonomically undesirable for filming usage as compared to your regular video cameras (have limited single file recording time, very limited functions, and when compared to a handycam, it's seriously lacking in usable functions, except that you may have manual focus control and also, large sensor recording ability)

Adding a video function - for Sony, which manufactures a ton of Handycams yearly, and makes other higher level cameras like CineAlta - is considered easy, and basically, is a "me too" move - a move, in any - is a calculated one: and they would know what they are going to lose - people who weigh in features like video function as their primary buying choices if the new series really don't have HD video recording.

As for other manufacturers, who, I believe, Sony would eventually change the ergonomics and looks of the SLR camera significantly... so... we might be seeing cyber-slrs very soon?

the HVL-F20AM flash is interesting...
