I hope the 5D Mark II have more Print buttons.

Be careful what you wish for. It's just a moronic idea away from getting a print button on the battery grip!

Print buttons on 5D Mkii? Are you kidding or mocking Canon?
Thats one last button photographers want in their DSLR!
Enter digital darkroom....

Hey Chopper! Go for it lah! Why keep waiting? :P

Still happy with my 30D. Here is what I'm waiting for:

  • Better AF then my current 30D (understand 5D is slightly better, but more looking for D300/D3 level, or my EOS3 ;>)
  • Silent shutter (current 1D mk3 features (40D as well ?))
  • ISO capabilities that will come close to D3
  • Price not very far from 5D today

If these are matched, I will get the cam without second thought, I'm sure so will many others :)

+ available in my hands before i leave for my holiday in november =P

Hehe...i just called CP today and they still got stock! Price at CP is $3600 but other places are going at $3500+. All inclusive of GST.

$800 premium between grey set and local warranty set is quite a lot.
In your opinion, is it worth it for 15 mth warranty?
(800 / 2800) * 100 = 28.5% more for warranty.

I saw one piece of 5D @ J3:16 last Fri, but din enquire the price.

I always preferred to get with warranty for a new set so it's definitely worth it.

I was at John 3:16 last sat and the only 5D i saw was the kit set. Didn't asked the price of that but was quoted that body only have to order - $3300 with local warranty and $2800 without warranty. I presume they're excluding GST.

Actually, it is better to get a camera body with warranty.. as compared to a lens with warranty, the exception are lenses with IS and 3rd party.
More things can go wrong with the electronics in a camera.

J3:16 tends to quote prices with GST. So if they said $3300, its usually nett price.
I did not know they have non-warranty sets, now I'm tempted!!! :sticktong

But have to order and will only take a day or two, and have to place a 10% deposit.

Thanks for the information.

In a day or two as well, more new FF cams expected to be announced. Or they may be blanks.
Wouldn't hurt to sit back a day or so to view the fireworks.

Haha....but i'm just settling for the 5D, it's more than enough for me. :)

We are merely getting, erm, "inspired", by the geniuses of Canon's excellent DSLR marketing division.

In fact, I'd wager that this very issue of deliberating how many "print" buttons and where they should be placed are the key teething issues faced by Canon's 5Dm2 product design team.

"Numbers don't lie!!!", I can hear the Canon marketing division screaming. The millions of dollars spent on user focus groups have proved that user friendliness brings in the dough for non 1D DSLRs. So surely having more "Print" buttons are absolutely critical to the very success of the upcoming 5D Mark II. Who gives a rat's a$$ if N***n is coming up with a rumored D700 FX with the AF system of its D3 flagship and pro-grade body. Who cares if Sony is coming into the mid-ranged DSLR fray with a full-frame challenger. The PRINT button is crucial!!!!! ;)

mmm... canon 5D II thread has been going for eons. Nikon D700 has so much more credible information already. And supposedly available on END July. Which is reasonable due to olympics being 8th August. I think surely the canon want to time some of its launches before the biggest sporting even in the world? That is what nikon is doing.

Sounds reasonable for Nikon to gear up their products for such an important event. However Canon like to surprise consumers, with new products popping out of nowhere. hahah.

Mehehe... you all kena hoax again...

Well, with Nikon dropping the bombs (d700, new tilt shift lens, sb900), I guess Canon should be entering it very soon :D
