Perhaps Canon did'nt even plan or have a replacement for the current 5D, since it is still a very popular & well designed camera, they expect it to run another 2 years....all these wait will be in vain.

I wonder if a new 24-70 F2.8 IS L lens will be out to replace the current one (in order to complement with the 5D Mkii as a kit lens)?
Or a 28-85 F2.8 IS L?

a 24-70 f/2.8 with IS would be damn heavy. maybe the manufacturers should start using CF for the lens barrel.

i think a raw CF barrel would look awesome matched with a raw CF body =D

I like that idea... imagine a CF body & CF lens, to sit on the CF tripod... I think need to rob the bank already.

I was at Orient photos today, they quote 2.8K+ for the 5D, seems to have ready stock. I'm not keen to purchase, so didn't probe too much.
