I was at the same event, with A7 & mostly SEL1018. I was quite happy with the AF though, only 1-2 mis-focus out of over 100.
I didn't try f1.8 though (or even f4) ... pretty sure I won't get any good catch on that.
The performers are moving so fast, it's probably like trying to nail BIF on...
Yes it's the mount itself.
Basically it's loose. So when we turn the lens during zooming/focusing, the electric connection sometimes breaks and the camera no longer recognize the lens anymore.
They do? For non-passenger (leaving SG)?
Last time I check FE 55, early Feb, they confirmed "This product cannot be sold at xxx as it is not under the categories for its operation".
Maybe things have changed since then, but too late, now they are not the cheapest on the block anymore for FE...
Do you know there's a shop at Changi that can sell to public (not passenger) with GST-free program?
They have camera like A7(r) but they're not allowed to sell the lens.
I think Funan's price is lower than Changi now. I bought a lens yesterday at Funan, it is way cheaper than Changi.
I suggest just go around and ask the shops ...
Make sure they have the product on display/stock though. If they have to walk over to Sony to get the stock, usually they can only...
LA-EA4 only have 15 focus points though. The 70-400 is probably better go with A99 so you have more flexible focus points.
Also consider Sigma 150-500 or Tamron 150-600, the A-mount version should work with LA-EA4 too.
I wonder if 200mm zoom lenses are selling good ... as Sony keep making them. So far we have 55-210, 18-200, 18-200LE, 18-200PZ, 18-200(Tamron), and the upcoming FE 70-200.
I want an FE 70-400mm, not another 200mm. Otherwise I can just keep using 55-210 with NEX.
I believe the part to replaced is called MB Contact Unit(755).
See part number 264 below (link: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Sony-Parts/Camera-Parts/Model-NEX3KS/0996/0500140/50037220/00006).
The original part number was A1773802A, but subsequently has been replaced...
The distortions are mostly ok in those photos (without correction), only the 3rd set need correction I think.
What I don't like is the light fall-off, makes the sky looks uneven.
