I only know that most of you don't talk like this to people in real life when you wanna help them improve on whatever area. If you wanna help someone improve, you normally tell them nicely, or even hang out with them and try to show them by example. If you bitch about them or talk sarcastically or arrogantly, it's usually cos you despise them or just cannot control your own ego. You know what I'm talking about. But it's hard for you to be humble and accept my gentle criticism on your possibly twisted perspective.

To PUI! at something you think is not up to standard is abit cruel in real life, don't you agree? You guys sure know how to be so different online.
You don't think it's a problem? I think this problem is bigger than the problem of someone's picture not being up to a standard that dunno who set.

i'm not trying to be mean here... but my 1st post, which part was being sarcastic?
each line by itself is a question for him to reflect... its based on much thinking without any prejudice that i think is most appropriate for him to understand, if he had asked himself these questions, he would not have made a mistake like these... choosing not to do self reflection and self questioning on the errors formed is purely his problem.
before every picture that he post, he should ask himself, should he post this pic or not, if he was to post, why should he post, is this pic unique and is it a piece of art? or am i not taking a nice pic, and i need some guidance... he should formulate questions before his every decision... then he will be a thinking photographer, instead of blindly pressing the shutter...
i am also not qualified to comment on the work and its critique here.
i just have something to say about the "defensive" topic mentioned here many times.
agree with an earlier post that serves to remind us that many of the critics here have earned their rights, truly respect that.
but there are many ways to convey a msg.
if the tone is harsh, you expect people to get defensive.
i really thought Del_CtrlnoAlt initial reply was framed quite neutrally and constructively, but some of other's post later on really got quite bad. how not to get defensive if someone attacks you instead of your work?
in many ways, "oh no, this is really really bad" sounds better than "this SUCKS".
and they convey the same level of truth. but saying it in the first way, makes it easier for the person to learn his mistakes.

Yeah.... THINKING PHOTOGRAPHER is the word. Ask yourself all the Ys and you should know where went wrong and why the photo don't give people the WOW feeling.
You think there are no photographers who are better than the best here in clubsnap? So what will those who criticise arrogantly here do when they meet someone who is better than them and talks to them like "PUI!" You think our arrogant critics here will be humble? You think they won't feel anger and think that this highly competent photographer should learn some manners? It's in your character lah. You guys just wanna let go. You have issues. To help someone improve is merely an excuse. Can you humbly accept my criticism on your character?

its hard to be a critic... esp someone who gives sound advice... i give up... harsh ppl say u mean, be indirect ppl say u sacarstic... kaoz...
nobody is appreciative... wat 2 do rite... waste my time only... i'd rather go do something else more meaningful...
as if i just see the pics and then say it suxs... i see the pics every corner, at least 10 times before i find the exact problem... then i list it down... dun believe... take the test...

Well to each his own. If you think its ok for everyone to talk big and insult people in the name of helping them to improve, then ok loh. To you photography is all that matters here but I am not here to comment on picture. I am here to offer suggestions on how the critics can better help others. Of course, they must also be humble and accept my words as educational. But from the response, I see I'm not very successful at that. I've acknowledged that GaoZi is actually better than me at doing that. Really, if all of you can stop your ego from running your mind, maybe you can try to read what he said and open your eyes to the problem that stops people from making full use of this forum.
