X-Pro 1 User Group

saw on ms color fb page that the fuji m mount adapter already arrived

Yes, just called MSColor and confirmed it is IN!

MsColor selling at $299. Didn't have a chance to go down to grab yet, but a friend of mine got one and said it is well made!

Newbie here. Correct me if I am wrong. The M mount is for the use of leica lens on the xpro 1. If this is right, I see it hard that this will do justic to anyone that do not already have any m mount leica lens. And to buy a leica lens just for the xpro 1 does not make sense as well given the price for the lens.

Beside Leica there are always others lens that are as great :- How about :-Zeiss Wide Angle 35mm f/2 Biogon T* ZM Manual Focus Lens for Zeiss Ikon and Leica M Mount Rangefinder Cameras - Silver wonder any of the members group here had tried.

Personally I won't consider any MF lens for the X-Pro1 as MF implementation is really bad on this camera.

With XF 14, 18, 23, 35 I got everything covered.

Since Fuji had implemented this adapter believe they will have some thing in theirs sleeve, the manual focus will be fix with some updating of firmwares i guess.Hope they will look into it.
;)

It depends on users. Leica users will always believe in Leica lenses, especially with those exotic lenses such as Noctilux or Summilux series. There are collectors who buy Leica lenses like buying stocks, with potential appreciation since prices only goes up.

Anyway, tried the Fuji M adapter that my friend bought. Very good news. It is really very well built with no creaking connection or loose gaps. Perfectly connected with Leica M lenses, and it feels like quality of Novoflex adapters. Definitely much better quality than Kipon or other adapters.

Besides the built like a tank quality, it will communicate with the X-Pro1 by auto switching "shooting without lens" on.

Just tried shooting with Summilux 50mm ASPH. Super sharp and really smooth bokeh, similar to shooting with my M9P!

Hopefully fuji will add the focus peaking soon to xpro1....that will really improve the user experience for manual lens

The list of lenses indicates that they have tested. I think the "No" means not tested yet since it is quite an exhaustive list.

For e.g. The Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 v2 indicates as No. Tested yesterday and it works really well with no issues like Nex 7.

Maybe they will update the list when they managed to locate more lenses?

The Fuji adapter apparently isn't so compatible. There are a number of lenses which apparently do not work for reasons they did not say:

I sure hope so. The 35mm/1.2 Voigtlander doesn't even protrude too deeply into any of the cameras I have, never mind that it isn't a symmetric design.

hey guys I lost the viewfinder ring (at the back of the camera) apparently using a neckstrap causes it to brush against me and come loose.

any ideas where I can get a replacement?

from eBay, Amazon, B&H? Can get Zeiss/ Nikon diopters pretty cheap.

Agreed. Tried the X-M adaptor with a Zeiss Biogon 35mm f/2.0. Just too difficult.

Focus peaking is overrated. It is at best a guide. You still have to magnify if you want squared on focus.

The XF 35mm is so good , is it pointless to use other 35mm M mount lens. I've also noticed that corner sharpness of M mount lens on X-pro1 sensor is less than optimum.
