Although I must admit I'm a gear freak, just gotten OMD for a week plus;p...which is quite a few times of my humble EPL1, though won't be retiring it, will be my spare body, it still provides excellent picture though it's a "old" 2 year camera body. Here's one of the City Hall of Ho Chih Minh at late night, sky wasn't that interesting after back from work to hotel, so decided to take an OOF shot of it instead, lucky though was staying really near. Its was relatively bright place as well. Didn't really feel unsafe at all. Hope to be back as a tourist next time.
There's often perception that it's difficult to get shallow depth of field (DOF) for portrait shots with M43 format (2x crop). It's possible still though I rely alot on legacy manual lens to deliver that mostly as only late last year quite a few fast m43 primes that came out (25/1.4, 12/2, 45/1.8). This shot was made with EPL1+ Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2 @ wide open in June last year, even at this aperture, it's difficult to nail the focus. Ok, actually i screwed up it's slight OOF ;p but I like this shot for her obliging smile.
In NZ this week, not much chance to shoot so far as on business trip, on flight from Auckland to Christchurch, took window seat (which I seldom do) to have aerial view, glad I did. Just to share a shot taken with the 12-50mm lens + OM-D, maiden overseas trip. In good light, this lens is really good. So far really enjoyed this camera
#103 Dog lazing in Lyttelton, near Christchurch, New Zealand
It's a pity in this recent business trip to NZ Christchurch, the city centre is off limits and still in rubbles, including the beautiful church. Had only a half day to go around and was lucky enough to have a customer to drive us around for a spin. We went to Lyttelton and Akaroa via the scenic hills drive. Lyttelton was shaken as well from the quake. Life goes on although there are quite many people affected and had moved to other cities. Here's a shot of a dog in Lyttelton town, which mainly thrives on it's port activities. It feels so relaxing walking in this town, as with seeing this lazing dog. E-M5 + Voigtlander Nokton 25/0.95
A scenic drive through the hills from Lyttelton towards Akaroa, which has a large crater lake and now forms a habour, the force of volanic eruption some 9 millions back was the cause of this massive crater lake. Panoramic shot with E-M5 + 12-50mm
Similar shot to #104, except included more foreground, as the clouds were quite uninteresting and a much wider perspective. Taken with E-M5 + 12-50mm. Was a little drizzling here and the weatherproof lens is very useful.
As the bad cloudy weather pursues as we reached Akaroa habour, I find it useful to use dramatic tone art filter (there's a B&W version which I'm using in this shot) on E-M5, it helps to exaggerate the else dull skies.

Moving over to Melbourne, trip made after NZ short trip. Was staying on Melbourne downtown near Flinder's and Southern Cross Station, so was accessible to quite a few places. Had a 3/4 day to walk around the city, would love to go Great Ocean Road but just not possible. Although the city itself has it's own metropolitan charm, yet people are nice(r) than those from Sydney. Not to start a debate here, a shot of a friendly lady to show the warmness of the "Melbournese"
#109 A bright cloudy day @ Flinder's St Station & St Paul Cathedral.
Was trying to do sunrise shoot at Yarra river but too many clouds and blocked out the sun, turns out though the fluffy clouds were really nice & coupled with ultra wide Fisheye lens combination, nothing short of dramatic shot! E-M5+ Samyang Fisheye 7.5mm/3.5.
Kinda like this shot for the star burst, street bustling with people, and of course again the nice sky. E-M5+Samyang Fisheye 7.5mm/3.5. I am pretty impressed with the dynamic range of the sensor, ooc jpeg.
