Mount E???
Sounds very expensive and reserved for elites.

I'm thinking of Q&M dental clinic....saw a few branches..anyone went before?
Gonna check it out later.

Yep..you are right.
Money can earn back.
Besides my tolerance for pain, especially dental is very low.

:( :embrass: :(

went Q&M b4, the one at kallang mrt... cos near my office, super last min thing.

drove there about 3 mins, put a 1 hour coupon... went in reg, sit down within 5 mins its my turn, sat on the chair, x ray, pull tooth, done in less than 1/2 hour, painless, and back to work...

anyway i am known to have super high pain threshold... so might not work for some...

may need x-ray for most cases.. another bill item. ;)

one good thing about wisdom tooth extraction.

if u are in NS.. u get attend C for one week. ;)

Just went for wisdom tooth surgical extraction 3 months ago at Chew and Chew Dental Surgery in Mount Elizabeth. Mine was done by Dr Bruce Chew. He is really the pro:thumbsup: . I did not felt any pain throughout the surgery and the entire recovery phrase.

Me going for wisdom tooth extraction on the 10th. At Mydentist. Got to take out before it affected the one infront of it. Lucky only got 2 of them and also, can claim via medisave ;p

Chew & chew... how many times did you chew? :bsmilie:

I had mine done just a fortnight ago at NDC. lucky to have a skilled specialist to treat me. :)

the extraction itself is a rather violent procedure and you'll hear lotsa drilling and cracking sounds. removed two on the left side that day. will be doing on the right on the 3rd day of cny.

note that it's a 5 day mc.

I did mine at CGH about 2 years ago.
Lower left wisdom tooth.
Can't remember the price but i think is quite ex.

Fast surgery.
Cover every where.
All i know was my mouth went numb.
Then i can feel a few tools inside my mouth.
The feeling was like someone drilling in ur mouth.

Very fast procedure.
The doctor asked me to bite the gauze but my mouth was numb that i can't feel if i'm really bitting or not.
Then the nurse just show me my wisdom tooth and 5 sec later, *zoom, out of the dental office.
*stunned
should have ask to keep my tooth.

now come the pain after a few hours.
then the next few days have to feed on mashed potato from 7-11...

i went to NTUC shenton way to extract my problematic wisdom tooth that caused me much pain and anguish.

process takes like only 15 mins , specialist is pro! but after the operation. all the blood and pain comes in....same experience as mojopy, right down to the mashed potato from 7-11...hahahaha..........but pain now better than pain forever.

so weak meh, imagine mine end b4 5pm, i was having normal dinner liao, mixed with blood...

i think it depends on how they extract ur tooth out.
In my case was by surgery.
So got stiches.
Opening mouth is a big big problem.
Only can like stick ur small finger in.
brush teeth in the morning need to use finger cos toothbrush too big to go in.
basically after the surgery, best to keep mouth closed for few days.
to put food in, have to do it th slowww and gentle way.

I think the professional Dentist skill in Stitching the wounds is superb, that's why you didn't feel any pain during the recovery. HOw much is that?

My family doc complain that my wound was badly stitch by the dentist. tat's why the wound got infected as it might have taken too long to heal. luckly, he never ask me to re-stitch.

I believe your extraction of the wisdom tooth is by pulling. NOT SURGERY!

Don't get them mixed up. You will never be able to take dinner after the surgery:nono:

It is not the initial process that is scary, It is the recovery process that is frightening.

A doc never give 5 day MC for fun...;)

depends on position of the tooth. If it is normal growing upwards it is simple. Mine is abnormal, growing sideways imapacting the molars. I asked if they can remove all 4 at one go. The dentist said, for the kind of surgery we have to do to extract it. You will die of pain....

So they did only one. Cut open the gum to reveal the tooth inside the gum. Crush the tooth into bits and extract it bit by bit and pull out whatever leftover. Then stitch back up.

Result? excruiating pain.....

I extracted 4 in a single op... 2 had to be crushed and removed = stitches... the other 2 were simple extractions.

Following 5 days subsisted on soup and very very soft pasta :bsmilie:

sounds like mine. unfortunately for me, my wisdom teeth on my right side bugged me so much during the SARS period, so the dentist disallowed me to go on the opt table as i chose to remove all 4 (general anaethestic). ended up i went for localised anaethestic and was awake the whole opt. i still havent the guts to go remove the wisdom teeth on my left side yet.. still waiting :bsmilie:

however when i was resting at home, my appetite got extremely good. love ice cream and mashed potatoes. whoever said extracting wisdom teeth would lose weight :what:

yes... it is crazy pain. did they warn u that there is slight percentage of losing the sense of taste ?

Seems that mine were abnormally bad. All 4 tooth growing horizontally and deep roots. All 4 impacting the molars and the best part, you cant even see the tooth. Hence they had to do invasive surgery to all 4 tooths and crush and extract. They said besides the pain, there would be extensive bleeding as they will go deep in to extract the root, too risky to leave it there and risk infection. Also I will most likey eat from a tube for the next 2 weeks haha. Reasoning? With such extensive surgery, face and gum would be swollen like a bun. Can forget about eating anything.

I was traumatised when I learnt I had to remove 5 teeth (4 wisdom & 1 molar). The molar was damaged beyond repair by the neighbour wisdom tooth, and I had myself to blame when I ignored the signs.

Anyway, the senior consultant lady at the Dental Clinic in Alexandra Hospital is really good. Had 2 sessions, 1 to remove 3 teeth, another to remove 2. Although had 5 days MC each time, I was like recovered in 2 days :). Can pay by Medisave somemore.

So, recommended :)
