ANy summary of these features? I'm still on XP for all my machines.

You are happy because you haven't seen the state-of-the-art Windows 7 new features

Does that feature add values to my business? Does it help me to bring in more revenue?
All of that is subjective. If you don't see the features as something useful, then stick with whatever that works for you. Don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading. ;)

Its funny when people asks questions like that. Its akin to asking, the next version of Windows still can't make coffee for me. To each his own. Cheers!

Looks fiddly, and useless to most desktop users who arleady have a keyboard and mouse.
Multi touch is one of the many great features Windows 7 has.

The new and improved taskbar really adds a lot of productivity to navigation. It also has other features like Shake and Snap to top and sides for window management.

The Windows Explorer is now more neatly organised. E.g. instead of you figuring out how to manage your cluttered filing system, W7 has centralised folders called Libraries. Much easier to find stuff. You can read more about this at Windows homepage.

The search actually works (well so does Vista) and is bloody fast compared XP's pathetic stupid dog which doesn't really find anything. I still find that dog bloody annoying.

The Wifi/Bluetooth support is much better.

No need to search for drivers when installing new hardware. All you need to do is connect to the internet and Windows will do everything for you.

System is very stable and feels very snappy. No random crashes or BSOD. The services that run in the background doesn't affect my running programs at all.

There's more but overall, I am impressed with 7's new features. It definitely won't generate more clients or money for you. Definitely won't make your balls bigger and girls swinging around you too. If these features are what you are looking for, then you should upgrade to Windows 7. Hope that helps. Cheers!

If you've seen the features for Vista, it's not much different, except that it works now. It's pretty much up to the level of Mac OS X but still in a Windows way.

If you're happy with WinXP, you have little reason to upgrade. Security is somewhat better than WinXP but it's also compromised compared to Vista. Resources needed to run comfortably are still high, even though performance has been improved, even over WinXP.

so Pablo, are you trying to say microsoft still din get their OS right?

Hi GoheadGostern,

A late reply from me but....

I first thought that from the presentation they didn't show me any thing that had Wow factor.

At least nothing that would prompt me to pay for it.

Then I think that I was put off by the people that did the MS presentation when I asked, "will it show RAW images" ....

They didn't even know what a raw image was :nono:

At that point I lost interest with the presentation.

2 days later I downloaded a Beta version from MS and installed on my laptop.

I found the interface to be very bland, and simple things such as setting up a network harder than both XP and Vista.

Maybe I did not spend the time to work with Windows7, but should I have to ?

Isn't it meant to be even easier ?

Just my view :)

Not interested. Mac user here. :)

Still using XP 64bit.......and will use it for a very long time until W7 comes out with the 64bit Edition SP3.....

Do we need new drivers when upgrading from VISTA machine?

Thanks.

Agree, Windows 7 will probably be the best Windows ever. I like it much better than XP and other earlier version of Windows. It is lighter and more responsive. The best part of Windows 7 is the toolbar, it is sort of like the OS X dock.

So the best part of it is the mac like dock. Great! Macs only had that the last 10 years, when in doubt, buy a mac, when your not in doubt, you already have a mac.

Suddenly this thread turned into a MAC supporting thread. :bsmilie:
