Thank you for your wonderful comments... actually that day I forgot to brought bring my FL36 ... end up decided to went back home to take it... despite the pouring rain....

But I must give credit to the lighting conditions provided by the organizer of the Swarovski show is very good for bounce flash. :angel:

Nice shots although some where slightly over exposed but very good considering it's FZ50 :thumbsup:. I still have my FZ20 f/2.8 which I'll not hesitate to bring when I'm flying (DSLR's heavy lol).

If you have the chance, check out FZ20 with its f/2.8 throughout it's 36-432mm range, I'm sure it'll not disappoint you ;).

Thanks for your comments, you are right the photos are over saturated... need to work on that next time... :think:

I heard that the FZ20 have a fantastic zoom range with a constant aperture of 2.8.. :thumbsup: Personally I have not used the FZ20 before, but judging from specification-wise, I feel that there is 3 thing that I prefer my FZ50 over the FZ20. namely the (1) Manual Zoom, (2) Flipped LCD & (3) External TTL Flash. :cool:

Nice shot, Anson.
Your photos always make me wonder whether I can do as yours if I have a FL36.
Although I have bought a new Canon 450D, FZ50 is still my choice for travel light.
Do you use any other camera also?

Thank you once again for your wonderful comment. Your Canon 450D is one of the best entry level DSLR currently in the market and together with your 50mm F1.8 (portrait lens), I have no doubt that you would take photo much better than my FZ50. Looking forward to see your great works soon... :angel:

Beside the FZ50, I recently purchase the TZ15 as my PnS camera.... coz I have yet to find a suitable dslr to replace the FZ50 yet.... :bsmilie:

Well, panasonic still makes good cameras :thumbsup:. I had a chance to play around with an LX3 today and I'm impress with the optics and body. Excellent camera for days you don't feel like carrying a heavy DSLR :)

I have tried the LX3 on a Panasonic Event. It's low light is fantastic, I finally is able to attached my FL36 to the camera too.. :)

coincidentally, i also have a TZ1 and a TZ15;

but i still feel FZ50 is better; however when i am lazy to carry the big camera, the TZs are great.

seems we are all lumix fans...

I agree that Panasonic make great camera that is meant for different purposes, unlike some vendor which come up cameras with more or less similar design & function.

LX3 = Excellent low light for a non-dslr
TZ15 = Excellent zoom range for a small compact camera, prefect for traveling
FZ28 = ASPM controls with an outstanding zoom range in its class
FZ50 = DSLR-like ability, with full manual controls (including zoom & focus), flipped LCD + external TTL flash function

Depending on your needs & usage, there would be a Panasonic camera suitable for your occasion.

Strongly agree.
However, if their ISO performance can be improved,
then Panasonic will win the market.
The only complaint that I have with FZ50 is the poor ISO performance.
But I like to use it for the super zoom and fully manual control.

I agree.... High ISO in low light is the "Achilles Heel" for the FZ50, that why the photographer behind the camera need to think of more creative ways to create a "noise-less" photo.

Having an external flash to help "bounce light" around is one method, using a dedicated "Noise Reduction" program is another....

Hope it helps... :angel:

These shots are taken on the Singapore Motorshow 2008 during the actual F1 race day. Compared to the SIN'08, there are significantly less crowd that day (did not need to use LiveView), and the photographers there were more friendly with less "pushing" from one another. Hence overall an enjoyable event for me.
