i like to shoot run-down houses....any one knows of any good places to shoot this kind of pictures?
something like this...

Try:

Shophouses behind Boat Quay pubs, mostly run down and uninhabitated

Warehouses near Liquid Room, Mhd Sultan, near the river, near the hotel with the colourful squares and rectangles on its exterior. (sorry forgot the hotel's name)

Shophouses opposite Katong Mall

Shophouses in Little India (some are empty and run down)

Shophouses inbetween Shaw Center (or is it Shaw house? always mixed up) and Bugis Junction....some run down but renovation are ongoing fast...shoot before everything converts to modern and painted.

Shophouses near Thian Hock Kheng temple

Last but not least...can try Johore.....lots of those there around City Square area. :)

Hope some of the info helps. :D

thanks ! i think might be heading to little india...especially with the deepavali decoration...very colorful sight

On a more serious note, if groups of 3 or so want to come to WA to shoot I can organise time to be a guide. Won't be that expensive, but would be better value than tours.

That'd be cool. Ian, you hold photo workshops? :)

So when is the next outing?! :D

Wah...the thread's less than a day old but got so many hits/posts/votes liao! :gbounce:

Seems like my concerns are not unfounded.

Keep them coming; I'll do a review on the thread this Sunday!

Try to disguse like John Travolta and fly a Qantas here :D

So when's the best time to photograph Perth & outsurbs.
I believe now is wildflowers season in western australia right?

U are a teacher? Me too! I remember that someone else here is a teacher too other than u. He uses a Canon system with that huge 400mm IS Canon lens. Saw his pic in one of the JBP or Zoo outings but forgot his nick. Just slipped my mind...........

You are not alone...just watch the space, as mentioned I'll be coming up with a review cum write-up on the 10 options to point out things in the right directions!

Meanwhile, keep shooting! ;)

cheechee: how you get lobang for tengah?

I"ve been to redang, quite nice place, but not much fishes, more hard corals.

as for old shophouses, there's this place along singapore river just lower down from zouk, near mohd sultan, quite interesting sight. if anyone interested I can direct them there!

as for SEED, I think wed is a bit inconvenient, I think fri or sat would be great cuz everyone's in the weekend mood and maybe more free to meet and even shoot after that?

Agree! Wed surely out! I got meeting every Wed. Sat is the best. The week gor SEED then no outing loh! I also can't afford to every weekend go shooting. Film and development cost will be super "siong"!!! :D

its been mentioned before, but all you need to do is wear a t-shirt that says

"My EOS-1D and 600 f/4L IS USM is at Canon for servicing"
