I have a Lowepro Magnum AW(about four years old. Maybe thinking of letting it go). Condition 8.5/10. As usual, shoulder sling metal(hook & ring) area show signs of usage. What I hate about this bag is, not enough cushion padding at the shoulder padded area(don't you think so?). Real louzy design back then. Searching high & low for this related improve design shoulder padded sling(even email to Lowepro USA), still couldn't find one. Anyone got any better idea or info to get one? Thanks a lot. :)

I'm Crumpler user :D Have a Budgie Smuggler which I use when I'm just going on a purely photographic trip. It fits my camera with lens attached and 2 other lenses. Also have a Farmer's Double which also doubles as my daily use bag, so I always have my camera with me...which is great when I'm waiting for friends and I can just shoot street scenes, or when I see something interesting.

sulhan,
where u bot the bag?

so far.....

now got a Lowepro Stealth Reporter 500AW for assignments, Lowepro Nature TrekkerAW for other uses.. heehee

:)

can anyone recommend me a good photo vest?

lowepro compact aw for local low volume use, and crumpler farmers double laptop and camera bag for overseas or anytime when a computer is needed for storage etc...

has anyone tried and tested a pelican case? water and impact proof case...
becasue travel in myanmar or cambodia during the rainy season would require something that can float and stay water proof...

i think that that bag has pretty much the best padding in the lowepro series... having used the compact aw... but i guess your standards are higher and maybe your equipment is heavier...

Hi Showtime,
If any of your photography friend(s) purchased this Lowepro Magnum AW 4/5 years ago, you'll know what I mean.

I trust my Stealth AW....it rocks

How much does a Mini Trekker cost? Am thinking of investing in a backpack. I was in Bangkok last week. One of the camera shop over at MBK shopping centre is selling a Lowepro mini trekker classic for about $2200 baht which is roughly about SGD 90+. So is it cheaper to buy here in Singapore, Bangkok or Vietnam where most these bags are manufacture there???

90 dollars is ok wat....cheap liao...singapore ard 120 rite new one....

use back pac for streets....those family events when no need to carry so much gear the i use my sling..

Thanks for the tip. Guess should have bought it when i was in Bangkok.

I'm also currently looking fer a new bag :) Had a LowePro Photo Runner which served me well, but just not practical to squeeze stuff in anymore... Torn between Crumpler and Lowepro now.. hahah... whether to get waist pouch or backpack.. sigh... so many choices :(

Hi, I got only one bag,Mini Trekker. So that I can take all my equipment out when there a necessary.

the shoulder harness makes u feel as though u are wearing the SBO fully equipped with magazines, grenades, cleaning kits and army rubbish inside.... soooooo cool..... that is IF its filled with camera equipments.. hahahahhaa.... omg.. its realli cool.. but a shoulder pack is for me la... feel more nicer ... a backpack macam schoolboy liao.. hahahahaa =X

Started with a Tatonka Focus 3 with added customised straps to fastened around the waist and thigh. Works really well when you want to draw your "gun" very quickly. But this is restricts me to only 1 body + 1 lens (able to fit a 70-200mm).
Used this in my China trip going through snow & ice. Temp >-30deg!

Next, bought a SAFRO sling bag which have an elegant black w brown leather. This bag is high enough to top-load my SLR w 70-200mm attached. Space to allows wide angle + standard lens + hood + binoculars + tripod mount + acessories. Also features 2 rows of film canisters for quick reload. This bag also has a zip around the sides and bottom to expand for my short overseas assignments.
I happened to use this for my rugged Myanmar trip! Not really for the purpose but worked well. I bought an extra Mekko backpack attachment for times when i am on the move.

Recently used a simple messenger bag for day shoots which can hold 1 body + 2 lenses + other rubbish :D

Domke F7AF Black, F2 Black, F3XB (Ballistic), J-3, Crumpler Formal Lounge.

i wonder if the army SBO can be considered a shoulder + waist harness ... hehe thinking of converting mine to a photographic one .. cheaper than the LowePro S&F .. hehe ...
